As the Senior Manager of the Global Emergency Operations Center (GEOC), based out of Bethesda, MD, the successful candidate will assist in leading a dynamic team of exempt proprietary Professionals and Contract Security Officers in support of the GEOCs 24x7 operation that monitor events having the potential to impact the safety and security of LM employees, facilities, assets and operations.
In this capacity the candidate will oversee all operational facets of the GEOC including but not limited to:
• Developing and supporting GEOC related strategic plans and projects that meet global security goals and objectives
• Leading the team on a daily basis in support of all designated GEOC tasks
• Managing individual and team efforts to consistently meet GEOC performance standards
• Managing staffing requirements: recruiting, hiring, training, development, and retention of highly qualified team members
• Developing a deep understanding of operational risks that drive appropriate response protocols that minimize Lockheed Martin impact
• Influencing and improving existing processes through innovation and operational change
• Providing information and guidance to leadership and stakeholders during incidents
The applicant will work closely with Corporate Human Resources, Corporate Communications, LM Properties, Business Resiliency, Global Mobility, Business Area Security, Corporate Security, Executive Protection, Office of Counterintelligence, and International Security Operations to ensure successful integration of strategic priorities and initiatives. Builds strong cross-functional partnerships across the corporation by communicating team goals, wins and opportunities to help prepare for potential disruption. Candidate will also build external partnerships with national, state and local law enforcement partners, trusted third-party security agencies, community leaders, and others.
Candidate will be required to communicate succinct analytical and persuasive reports, observations and recommendations to department leadership and enterprise business partners as well as establishing and growing effective internal / external relationships that promote the safety and security of company personnel, facilities, assets and interests.
Basic Qualifications The applicant must be an excellent team leader, with strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills and possess hands-on operational experience in crisis management, emergency planning and response.
Demonstrable experience in managing crisis related incidents and events, developing crisis management policy and procedures, building and testing crisis management plans, and enabling and assisting the business or enterprise by applying an assortment of security and emergency preparedness methodologies across the globe.
The applicant must be a self-driven and results-oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently and across an ambiguous and uncertain global risk landscape.
The applicant must have effective written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal relations, and the ability to articulate and present concise and risk-managed crisis management recommendations in a timely manner. The ability to present cost effective, intelligent, decisive and risk-managed recommendations is also necessary.

The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to US classified information. Applicant must also be eligible to access Export Controlled information as defined by US law and contracts.
Desired skills Previous hands-on experience leading and evolving a dynamic 24x7 crisis management/global operations center setting is desired.
Prior experience standing up and establishing an Operations Center of this nature developing enterprise policies and procedures, and implementing new operating protocols is preferred.
Knowledge of Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) technology applications and principles, emergency/mass communication software, incident management tools, social media tools, and business and project management skills is also desired.
Bachelor’s degree in related Emergency Management, Crisis and Disaster Management, or Homeland Security field of study.
Thorough knowledge of the National Response Framework (NRF), National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS) and the ability to apply these principles to the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) industry. Knowledge of US Government regulations and certifications pertaining to emergency preparedness, response and recovery.
Proficient knowledge and use of all Microsoft Office Professional Suite, Sharepoint, database management tools, and other basic IT or web enabling skills is also desired.
