Position Summary:
This position is contingent upon Task Order Award and job locations are Bethesda-MD, Ft. Meade-MD, Ft. Gordon-GA, and other locations
The Security Specialist will support a Task Order (TO) to deliver security administrative support by providing assistance to our candidates throughout the Security/CI screening process. The security specialist will report to the Facility Security Officer and assist with daily security duties.
Main Responsibilites
Performs security administration tasks to assure employment of personnel in sensitive positions, employee access to secured information, and contractor pre-vetting requirements are consistent and completed.
Perform applicant pre-vetting to ensure individual skill levels are documented to meet contract requirements. Work with candidates to ensure all security forms, detailed foreign travel and SF-86/e-QIPs are 100% accurate according to vendor specifications.
Escort candidates to Ft. Meade Maryland as required to attend government CI screenings generally between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm daily.
Ensure all candidates have the required original security documents necessary for the CI screening and are on-time for their appointment.
Compile and populate candidate hard copy and automated databases to track candidate statistical data.
Participate in DSS inspections and audits.
Prepare reports for management as required.
Effectively maintain hard copy personnel security files.
Generate visit certification requests through JPAS and ACAVS.
Accurately process and manage current periodic re-investigations (SSBI-PR, S-PR) in JPAS.
Provide continuous education as well as Annual Security Training to employees to meet mandatory contract and employment requirements.
Assist with implementation of development, evaluation and coordination of security program policy and/or direction as required.
Qualifications
Associates Degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
Experience with e-QIP, JPAS and ACAVS.
Effective oral communication skills and ability to discuss security paperwork information requirements with candidates to enable accurate, timely paperwork completion.
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of MS Access desired.
Detail oriented and able to work in a fast paced environment independently and as a member of the team.
Minimum clearance requirement is Secret.
Valid state driving license and automobile.
Prefered Skills
Knowledge of Department of Defense, US Army INSCOM and/or National Security Agency personnel security policies and procedures.
Previous experience vetting candidates for Army INSCOM or DOD access to classified information.
Experience conducting and presenting briefings to employees on various topics.
