Job description
1) The Associate Security Specialist will perform one or a combination of disciplines responsible for supporting components of the IBM Corporate Security program.
2) The candidate will participate in team and project initiatives to support department mission and objectives & Physical Security program for the IBM locations.
Responsibilities:
1) Develop metrics for area of responsibility and regularly assesses self and processes against these.
2) Support the physical security elements to ensure a safe and secure environment for IBM people and property through a number of measures.
3) Perform risk analysis of proposed and existing IBM sites that examines internal and external threats to IBM to aid management in determining where to situate and what, if any, additional security measures are warranted for a given site.
4) Support the installation and maintenance of security equipment and tools, such as high security key systems and badge readers to secure restricted space.
5) Most of these tools are unique to the field of enterprise physical security, and the professionals who deploy and maintain them are specialized.
6) Implement policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods of identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, and material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, product tampering, espionage, sabotage, or loss.
7) Support complex security improvement programs across business units and IBM sites.
8) Establish relationships with law enforcement, intelligence and private sector counterparts.
9) Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

2) Clearly and concisely communicate information within and outside of the security function.
3) Effectively utilize group dynamics to gather and exchange information within and outside of the security function.
