Global Security Investigations Manager

Description
The Global Security Investigations Manager is a senior staff member on the Global Security Team responsible of managing investigations related to employee misconduct and/or crimes against Dow Jones and News Corporation and will also provide a leadership role in special event security. Working with Security Officers, Human Resource representatives, legal staff and business line managers throughout the organization, the Global Security Investigations Manager is responsible for conducting interviews, gathering evidence, writing reports, and working with law enforcement to prosecute and corporate human resources/legal to administratively handle those responsible for losses sustained by the company. The manager will also work with Dow Jones Conference personnel to provide special event security for conference events.
The Global Security Investigations Manager provides a blend of technical expertise, staff leadership and project management skills to help ensure the success of the department. Areas of specific focus include:
• Utilizing a case management system to document and analyze security incidents throughout the company
• Identifying control weaknesses through the investigative process, and recommending improved internal controls and process improvements to systems
• Using forensic investigative tools to gather evidence
• Evaluating the need for a formal investigation on all incidents reported to the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) and Global Security
• Managing investigative resources efficiently and effectively
• Developing and maintaining policies and procedures related to Global Security investigations
• Manages and investigates security related incidents and crimes committed against Dow Jones and News Corporation nationally and globally in coordination with Legal Counsel, Human Resources, and/or other departments, as appropriate
• Oversee investigations where criminality is alleged and ensure these investigations are well documented and archived
• Provide detailed, relevant and concise reporting, as well as actionable advice to senior leadership regarding security concerns
• Develop and execute special event security operating plans to ensure safe and secure conference events for employees and guests.
The Global Security Investigations Manager may also lead investigative and project teams, develops comprehensive plans and participate on critical physical security planning initiatives when needed. Proven staff leadership skills, thorough documentation and presentation skills, analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to react in a timely manner are key requirements of the position.
Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Accounting or Law; advanced degree a plus
• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience working in the investigative field, such as a corporate investigator or law enforcement officer
• A minimum of 5 years staff management, supervisor or team lead experience is required. Experience developing, monitoring and mentoring junior staff/security officers, and developing staff training programs
• Must be familiar with investigative technologies, such as video systems, case management software, and forensic evidence collection equipment
• Proven project management and leadership skills
• Must understand information security concepts, protocols, “industry best practices” and strategies. Experience working with law enforcement, and corporate legal, human resources, facilities, and internal/external audit departments.
• Experience developing policies, procedures, standards and guidelines
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with project and application development teams, management and clients a must
• Must have business experience, understand business drivers and be able to translate business needs into workable project plans
• Leadership, analytical, teamwork, organization and time management skills are critical. Must be focused, energetic, meet commitments, and be willing to take ownership of assigned projects and cases
• Must have excellent judgment and integrity
• Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and/or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certifications are a plus
• Must have special event security experience, developing security operating plans, post orders and executing the plans ensuring safe and secure special events
• Exceptional organizational skills. The ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and people while ensuring strategic focus is maintained in order to accomplish department goals and business objectives
• High levels of presentation and interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to deal with a wide range of people including business unit managers and senior executives
• A willingness to be available as needed and travel on short notice, both domestically and internationally
• A highly motivated self-starter. Ability and willingness to work flexibly, under pressure and able to meet deadlines without prompting
• A team player who understands how to build consensus
