Security Support Specialist

Work Location: Positions available in North Carolina, Washington DC Metropolitan Area, and OCONUS.
Start Date: This position is contingent upon contract award, anticipated start date in Spring 2014


Advantage SCI is currently seeking Security Support Specialists to be considered for employment upon contract and task order award. The Security Support Specialists will assist, monitor, and advise on all aspects of security activities in support of US Special Operations Command mission requirements. The Security Support Specialists will have extensive experience in each of the following security disciplines: Physical, Personnel, Special (compartmented), and Industrial Security. They will plan and assist in implementation of security activities at the Top Secret and higher classification to ensure SOCOM personnel and all supported tenant organizations are prepared to operate in non-traditional environments to perform critical contingency tasks. Security Support Specialists will develop written technical approaches and methodologies with regard to security proposals. They will also process personal background investigations for special security clearance actions including:
*Formulating and ensuring compliance with automated information systems security procedures
*Suggesting, implementing and monitoring compliance with special security policies and procedures
* Conducting and coordinating the training for special security representatives
* Performing as liaison with Government and industrial security officials
* Overseeing collateral and higher access and badge procedures
Security Specialists located CONUS may be required to travel OCONUS. CONUS hours of operation will normally be 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Minimum Requirements:
• U.S. Citizen with valid passport
• Current Top Secret Clearance and SCI eligible
• Minimum of six (6) years Physical, Personnel, Industrial, and Special Security Experience within DoD or equivalent Government agencies. Operational level experience preferred
• Experience in compartmented programs in DoD, US Intelligence Community, or supporting US Contractors
• Experience in security training or security inspections is highly desirable
• Solid and varied experience in planning/accrediting facilities in accordance with the ICD 7051 standard
• Thorough familiarity with all security processes
• Working knowledge of security policies and procedures to include the National Industrial Security Program Supplement and DoD 5105.21, Volumes 1-3

Working Conditions:
• Willingness to work long hours for extended period of time (pertains primarily to OCONUS work) and travel in high-risk environments
• Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and carry for short distances occasionally
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
• Noise level: CONUS: Low to Moderate; OCONUS: Moderate to High
