Job Description
SKC is currently seeking an Armorer to inspect, clean, repair, and rebuild small arms
weapons assigned to the contract. The individual must maintain and handle the small arms and associated repair equipment with the utmost care and in an orderly condition. The individual will perform required inspections, maintenance and repair. In addition to armory maintenance, this position requires the individual to issue, distribute, receive, clean and store assigned weapons and assist in conducting monthly inventories. The individual will also be required to receive, store, issue, and account for ammunition within approved storage containers located at the facility. The individual will be required to deliver and pickup sealed weapons containers to and from local airport for deploying personnel. Most of these flights take place after normal working hours. Due to the physically demanding components of this position, individuals interested must be in good condition (capable of repeated bending, kneeling, and squatting; and capable of lifting up to 75 pounds unassisted) and be equipped each day with standard personal protective equipment.
Candidate must be a citizen of the United States of America, have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and be able to maintain it. Candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma. Completion of college-level courses in Business Administration, Warehouse Management or other applicable functions is highly desirable. Candidate is required to have a minimum of four years of experience as a full-time Federal, State or Local Law Enforcement or Military (preferred) armorer and must possess and maintain Factory Training and formal certification in each designated agency weapon and associated sight weapons-mounted vision systems; these include: M9/M11 pistols; Glock 22/23 pistol; M4A1 rifle; M16A2 rifle; HK416 rifle; M870 shotgun; M249 Squad Automatic Weapon (SAW); MP5 sub-machine gun; G36 rifle. Must be able to pass a drug screening.
