Job description
The Security Guard is responsible for providing a variety of security-related activities to ensure the safety and security of company property and employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greets and registers all visitors to the building and checks employees entering the building for identification badges.
- Patrols the building regarding security incidents, safety and fire hazards.
- Check in transportation trucks making deliveries or picking up products.
- Completes security incident reports for all security violations occurring on shift.
- Responds to emergency situations in accordance with the department policies and procedures (i.e. code reds, evacuations, CPR, etc).
- Maintains a variety of logs, i.e., lost and found, company owned vehicles, and operations logs.
- Disposes of confidential trash in accordance with company policies.
- Monitors traffic/parking control
- Full cycle monitoring of third party security vendors for both the physical plant and the parking area, including but not limited to scheduling, auditing payroll reports, and providing critique to management.
- Performs other activities as needed/assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 1 year related security, police, fire or EMS experience required or an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice or equivalent from a recognized Police or Fire Academy required. Excellent attention to detail required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to successfully complete the American Red Cross First Aid and CPR course required.
- A valid driver’s license is required. Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization required.
- Familiarity with computers and database software packages such as Word and Excel required. Familiarity with fire/security systems preferred.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information required. Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time required.
