Job Description :
Manager and Facility Security Officer (FSO) for the Edwards AFB F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) Program and Manager of the Palmdale Fighter Aircraft Security Team (FAST). Responsible for day-to-day leadership, management, and direction of Industrial Security personnel who support the F-22, and F-35 (JSF) Programs, as well as multiple, highly classified derivative Special Access Programs. Evaluates Program Security Guides and Government Directives (NISPOM, JAFAN Series) in order to derive program specific reporting requirements to define program Security attributes and thresholds in accordance with specific contracts, DD 254, and Program Security Directives issued by specific User Agencies. Publishes Program Security reporting requirements (e.g., investigations, violations, incidents, classification determinations, inadvertent disclosures, foreign travel/contacts, Fraud Waste and Abuse, etc.). In accordance with contractual Security requirements, defines program travel restrictions, testing and manufacturing Security constraints, establishes and conducts internal Security audits, inspection processes, and schedules (for prime, subcontractors, and consultants). The candidate must have very strong interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude. The candidate must thrive in a very fluid, dynamic, and fast-paced Special Access Program environment with multiple customers. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to lead and implement change in a collaborative, inclusive manner. Must achieve "Satisfactory" or better for government mandated Security inspections, reviews, and evaluations. Applicant selected will be subject to a government Security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (i.e., Special Program accesses).
Basic Qualifications
Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Must possess knowledge of Special Access Program (SAP) Security. Experience evaluating Program Security Guides and Government Directives such as the NISPOM and JAFAN Series. Security experience dealing with investigations, violations, incidents, classification determinations, inadvertent disclosures, and /or foreign travel/contacts, etc.
Desired skills
Familiarity with flight line and aircraft operations. Ability to reach consensus among competing ideas and backgrounds and to find common ground to move initiatives forward in a timely manner. Excellent interpersonal communication skills to keep senior leadership informed of all Security related activities within the F-16, F-22, and F-35 Programs Must be able to build effective team and customer relationships through open and effective communications. Must have the ability to proactively shape horizontal thinking and processes
