Description
Cognizant is seeking a Manager to lead the development and execution of the Physical Security program in Western Hemisphere. The successful candidate will support Corporate Security with developing, implementing and maintaining a robust Physical Security program throughout the region, to help adequately protect Cognizant’s 50 facilities, people, equipment and reputation.
Ensure synergies and consistency globally – taking lead on setting global standards.
Responsibilities
• Execute on the Corporate Security vision, mission and goals as delegated by the Head of Travel Security & Risk Analysis.
• Advise the Head of Travel Security & Risk Analysis, Senior Director – Corporate Security on all Physical Security matters in the region.
• Interface with Legal, Human Resources, Business Unit, Client and Law Enforcement personnel as required during the course of the job.
• Drive consistency, synergies and physical security best practices globally and, in some cases, take the lead on setting global standards.
• Establish and maintain robust physical security standards and guidelines.
• Develop training programs for security personnel and Associates.
• Conduct physical security assessments to determine risk and recommend mitigation actions.
• Develop, implement and continually update facility security programs, policies and procedural guidelines to protect Cognizant property, Associates and reputation.
• Plan, develop and conduct special studies; analyze gathered data and produces qualitative and quantitative reports.
• Conduct due diligence and establish standards for security vendors throughout the region (i.e. guarding, CCTV, access control) to ensure consistent service levels and competitive pricing.
• Develop and maintain effective business relationships with Local/State/Federal law enforcement and emergency response government agencies.
• Provides support with managing incidents in the region.
Required Knowledge and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven leadership skills with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications.
• High level of information technology competency (MS Office and associated applications).
• Expert in conducting physical security risk assessments.
• Knowledge of CCTV, access control systems and guard management.
• Crisis Management skills and experience.
• Sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to build consensus among multiple constituencies and interact effectively at all levels.
Prior Work Experience
Minimum 10 years of security and/or Law Enforcement experience with a substantive blend of field and corporate / government experience. Ideal candidate brings functional local / regional law enforcement and intelligence contacts.
Location
• Open from CST > EST. It is critical this person can interface on a daily basis with this the global corporate security team – early calls (7am) are the norm.
Travel
• Travel will be 30%; Some trips may be required on short notice.
