Job Summary

Apple’s Crisis Management (CM) works to a Preparedness, Coordination and Response Program. This means the CM Coordinator will be required to operate in all of the CM pillars.

Key Qualifications
Preparedness

To have an excellent level of knowledge about security risks, in all their forms, across the AMERICAS region.
To develop an excellent understanding of Apple’s assets (current and future plans) across all business units
To map the inherent country risks to those that will specifically impact Apple
Conduct proactive assessments of geographical locations, transportation options, hotels, event venues, distribution centrers and third party premises to design suitable risk criteria and mitigation plans.
To build relationships with law enforcement, government agencies and security professionals in each country.
To assess, vet and manage specialist security vendors in each country.
Complete and maintain city / county assessments to ensure Apple has a single version of assets, in addition to a solid appreciation of our security capabilities.
To develop risk mitigation strategies / plans for Apple’s assets based upon, country / city risk assessments, in-country reviews and business growth plans.
Design and test crisis response plans (for low-medium-high scenarios)
To deliver preparedness training to colleagues (Security awareness, Travel Safety and ASC security skills)
Train Crisis Management Teams on the Crisis Management Plan and response tactics.
To test local response capabilities and CMT readiness
Coordination
To work collaboratively with Apple colleagues, in all business units, to develop a high level of understanding about Apple.
To work closely will all business units to develop a strong understanding of growth and development plans.
To build first class relationships with senior stakeholders so CM is an integral part of the business.
To coordinate all CM activities and build confidence in others so that CM adds value.
To be the go-to-person for questions and advice about country risks and response plans.
Deliver security briefings to add context, ask questions and provide calm reassurance.
Be the Crisis Management Coordinator for a crisis situation.
Response
To quickly and accurately identify the risks to Apple when an incident occurs
To brief the Country / Regional CMT (s) when required
To provide calm, confident and well assessed context
To execute the initial communications to Apple colleagues via the appropriate method
To bring the CMT (s) together, provide a situation report and guide them through the Crisis Management Plan.
To be the CM security consultant for the CMT to make sure they make appropriate and swift decisions to project Apple’s assets.
To communicate to the wider CMO, Regional / Global CMT’s
To help manage the incidents throughout
To conduct a de-brief of the incident, decisions and the effectiveness of actions.
Work to close any gaps, re-train and design new mitigation plans with partners.
