The Manager of Physical Security provides physical security leadership over the Ceridian global enterprise: This includes:
- establishing physical security strategy, standards and guidelines;
- directing physical security functions,
- conducting physical security needs evaluation and implementation of programs and assets;
- providing logical/informational and operational physical security subject matter expertise;
- managing physical security operations to a company acceptabled level of risk.
- partnering with HR and Ceridian legal teams for investigations and threat assessments
- partnering with the Ceridian Crisis Management team as needed.
- partnering with the Ceridian facilities teams to address physical security issues specific to each location.

Scope:
- Strategic (policy development / program development / directional setting)
- Enterprise (daily interaction with global business units)
- Fiscal Management (departmental budget, project budget)
- Supervision (internal & external personnel / indirect supervision business unit security functions & staff)
- SME (investigations, due diligence, operational security, crisis management)
Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Provides directional leadership that stays the course in times of challenge and conflict. Leads an effort to instill a security sensitive culture/attitude in programs, people and processes. Helps to establish ptable levels of Company risk.
- Builds, motivates and leads a professional security team attuned to organizational culture, business needs and committed to integrity and excellence.
- Risk Evaluation: Monitors emerging security risks and evaluates applicability to Ceridian businesses and operations. Monitors situational security risk (workplace conflict, medical /natural emergences, criminal activities, informational breaches) evaluating and responding appropriately. Considers upstream and downstream risk possibilities and Company potential impact. Evaluates client security requirements. Monitors areas of economics, geopolitical, organizational design, and technology and considers how they may impact business security/risk.
- Risk Mitigation: Identifies, recommends and implements security standards, processes, technology, training and operations focused toward minimizing known security risk to levels of Company acceptability. Proactively works with Ceridian businesses to incorporate secure operational practices into business processes. Provides and evaluates business intelligence for consideration in matters of Company business transactions and activities.
- Operations: Manages Security Operations to ensure the protection of Company assets (tangible / intangible) and personnel. Provides subject matter expertise in the areas of; investigations, personnel protection, crisis management, loss prevention, emergency response, information security, privacy protection and security operations. Ensures compliance to established security standards addressing situational security; objectively, fairly, timely, consistently and lawfully.
- Incident Response: Ensures appropriate readiness for security/emergency incident response. Maintains resources and industry related relationships to ensure an effective and timely response to risk related incidents. Maintains appropriate levels of trained staff and equipment to promote a successful security/emergency incident response. Actively participates and appropriately manages situational crisis response efforts.
- Community Relations: Manages ongoing Justice System relationships at a Federal, State and Local levels serving as a Company representative and liaison. Maintains appropriate peer relationships, helping to ensure a strong community security presence and best in class security operations.
- Compliance: Provides leadership in the development of business ethics policy, awareness, certification, reporting and communication programs to help ensure the highest level of ethical business conduct. Manages processes and activities that support an overall ethical and compliant workplace.
- Personnel: Develops and coordinates safety and protection programs for company owners and executives. Evaluates owner security practices, recommends and manages as desired, appropriate security measures and equipment to support a secure work, home and personal environment. Is responsible for the management of a confidential emergency situation response plan and related activities.
Job Specific Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Subject Matter Expert – Must possess the necessary subject matter expertise in all areas related to the secure well being of the enterprise. Areas include; criminal investigations, technical tools/applications, emergency response, crisis management, assets protection (operational, physical, informational), workplace conflict and justice system protocol.
- Interpersonal Skills – Must have strong interpersonal skills enabling effective and appropriate interaction with all levels of personnel, management, and ownership.
- Communications – Must have the ability to effectively deliver clear and concise communications. Must possess the necessary skills to maintain an open line of communication with related professional and community resources.
- Maturity – Must be able to address situations with a calm, rational and fact based approached properly identifying and managing priorities. Must have the ability to maintain composure during times of stress and situational difficulty.
- Computer Skills: Must possess a firm understanding of computer usage skills to included general office suite products, internet browser and general computer forensics.
Experience and Education:
- 5-10 years private/corporate security organization experience. Bachelor Degree preferred.
- Previous organizational management and leadership experience.
- Professional certifications acknowledged.
