Job Description:
BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair is seeking to hire a Security Manager. This position will require the qualified candidate to manage with all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program ensuring the requirements of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) are implemented to prevent unauthorized disclosure of classified information. Develops, implements, and communicates security policy, procedures, and practices designed to protect classified and proprietary information, property, employees, and visitors. Manages government security programs, plant security, and investigations. Ensures that cost-effective security programs and procedures designed to provide reasonable protection for assets are functioning without having an adverse effect on the company operations.
Required Skills and Education:
Required education: Bachelor’s degree (or four additional years of experience in lieu of a degree) and 8 years security related experience and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Interprets policy, develops and implements security plans and procedures
Provides security guidance to company personnel and advises Security Director and Senior Management. Responsible for direct supervisor of the security staff, budget and allocation of resources.
Investigating and reporting security violations/adverse information reports with the cognizant government agency.
Prepares and conducts Program Security Awareness Briefings
Responsible for Security reviews to include: Defense Security Services visits and formal self-inspections overseeing implementation/completion of corrective action plans
Ensuring closed area construction requirements are met, ultimately receiving Self Certification
Oversees compliance with the Special Security Agreement (SSA) between the US government and foreign owners as well as compliance with the International Traffic in Arm Regulations (ITAR).
Establish and maintain physical security systems, plant protection, contingency plans and emergency response
Develop and implement improved methods of inspections, audits and analysis of security functions to determine performance and cost effectiveness
Experience with PC’s and office software, strong report writing skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Knowledge and experience of managing classified programs
Previous management and supervisory experience
Receives infrequent, limited general direction. Exercises judgment in determining objectives.
Provides work direction and guidance to members of the security staff as well as other employees with regards to security issues. May train subordinates to a level of awareness and expertise so they may assume essential functions if needed.
Work with senior and midlevel management, other employees, program security personnel, system administrators, corporate security personnel and program management personnel.
Represents the company with respect to security matters at customer meetings as well as at local or national security group meetings. Works with government program sponsors and commercial partners either as the prime contractor of as a subcontractor. Maintain liaison with the law enforcement officials.
May work extended hours or weekends. May be required to travel to government sponsored security seminars and to attend corporate security meetings at other company locations.
