Job Scope :
The Regional Security Manager is responsible for managing the protective security requirements for all deployed personnel, operations and assets in-region. The position requires strong strategic and analytical
thinking and a significant breadth and depth of experience in security.
The Regional Security Manager typically covers numerous countries that will contain a range of facilities and/or business units in an area or country within a geographical region.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs as the subject-matter-expert regarding Weatherford’s security management systems and programs.
Ensures applicable security regulations, policies and standards are fully implemented, communicated and sustained across all areas of responsibility.
Manages auditing and assessment program(s) to ensure compliance with Weatherford security policies and standards, as well as, regional, country, area, regulatory and client requirements.
Investigates security incidents and non-conformance to approved security requirements; ensures corrective actions are implemented and effective.
Ensures the security organization performs as a strategic partner to business units, product lines and support functions in-region.
Provides guidance to senior management and staff regarding development, implementation and sustainment of security systems and programs. Collates and disseminate reports to GSD, RVP, and Country Managers where necessary.
Develops and manages annual budgets to ensure adequate resources are available for sustainment of the security function.
Provides input to facility operations management regarding resources, budget forecasts and cost benefit analyses that support implementation of corrective/preventive actions requiring capital expenditures.
Reviews tenders to determine security requirements; provide Weatherford policies, standards, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), and forms; prepare bridging documents and contractor management plans (as required).
Tracks legislative changes and ensures the Management of Change (MOC) process is used to update all applicable security policies and standards.
Ensures performance management is conducted for security professionals across all areas of responsibility.
Ensures all applicable security training is available to personnel within area of responsibility.
Advise the Regional Vice President or designee on all security matters.
Report to the Global Security Director (GSD) on all security matters.
Report to the Global Security Director on all security related intelligence, incidents and other matters.
Ensure company security policy, procedures and plans are implemented and maintained at regional level, including the production and maintenance of region specific documents.
Provide effective security and political analysis at a regional level to help inform the RVP in the pursuit or maintenance of new or existing business opportunities, in order to minimize negative effects on business interests in both long and short term.
Manages the regional security department, including direction to and management of security personnel, ensuring overall compliance of the Region (including Country Security Managers) with Weatherford Security Policy
Provide advice and direction to all CSMs in order to safeguard Weatherford personnel and business interests from security and political risks.
Collate and disseminate reports to GSD, RVP, and Country Managers where necessary.
Produce a monthly regional security report for the GSD and produce ad-hoc security bulletins where necessary, in order to ensure personnel are fully informed of the regional security picture.
Conduct security risk assessments of facilities and operations (both existing and prospective), utilizing the Weatherford Security Risk Assessment process.
Assess client security plans and procedures if WFT personnel, assets and/or operations are covered by the client’s security plan/arrangements.
Oversee the selection of security contractors through competitive bid processes, including ensuring Weatherford’s due diligence process is followed.
Maintain contacts and information networks and attend meetings with other security professionals in order to ensure Weatherford remains fully informed of the security picture in the Region
Skills & Qualifications
Intermediate skills at using Microsoft Office suite
Critical thinking/reasoning ability
Ability to collaborate with others and have good team building skills
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Excellent presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to communicate with large groups of people
Sound understanding and practical application of financial and human resource processes
Comprehensive knowledge of Security risk management, Physical security, Personnel security, Security investigations, Crisis management, and Information security
Fluency in the English and Spanish languages (written and verbal)
Previous experience in commercial security roles (10 years minimum)
Previous experience living and operating in Latin America (5 years minimum)
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent level of study) majoring in a security related discipline
Specialist security certification (CPP, PSP, etc.) or the ability to achieve certification in 12 months
Relevant employment history (military, law enforcement, government intelligence, corporate security – in internationally deployed capacities)
Physical ability to respond to emergency situations
Ability to travel globally (short duration)
