Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or field related to the position.
• Five years of related professional experience in physical security
• Two years of experience training security/law enforcement officers
• Must be able to acquire and maintain American Heart Association First Aid / CPR Instructor Certification,
DOE ‘Q’ Security Clearance, DOE Firearms Instructor Certification, DOE Intermediate Force Instructor Certification, DOE Armorer Certification, Personal Training Certification, and maintain physical fitness requirements of WIPP Security Police Officer.
• Must be able to demonstrate effective oral, analytical, written, and communication skills.
• Must have practical experience and be proficient in software applications such as MS Office and MS Outlook.
• Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be US Citizens.Preferred Requirements
• Working knowledge of DOE O 473.3, Protection Program Operations
• Previous WIPP experience

Position Description:
The successful candidate will serve as Field Training Officer (Captain) for the Protective Force Program at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. Develop and maintain training in compliance with DOE Order 473.3, Protection Program Operations, and other applicable regulations. Provide instructor support for the Basic Security Police Officer Training courses to include Range Master support. Assist in the development of programmatic and tactical methods to identify, assess, prevent, and respond to internal or external threats and emergencies. Provide on-shift tactical and non-tactical training and ensure members of the Protective Force have an understanding of organizational policies, orders, regulations, and industry best practices. Develop security-related plans, procedures, guidelines, and shift orders. Coordinate the physical fitness program and testing. Support training-related working groups and subcommittees. May be assigned to cover rotating shifts, as needed. Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization. Must be willing to be on-call. Understand and embrace nuclear safety culture principles. Other duties as directed by responsible manager.
