Head of Security

Job Description
The Head of Security will be the point person for the company’s day-to-day global security operations and will report to the CFO.

This position will be hands on, interact and coordinate with management across the company to plan and
implement all security management policies, strategic plans and programs.
Responsibilities:
Maintain a safe and secure environment for employees and guests as well as safeguard company assets.
Contribute thought leadership and counsel in all areas of safety, security and privacy as it relates to the company and key executives.
Manage and train a team of professionals including security staff and consultants, evaluate the effectiveness of these individuals in carrying out security objectives.
Coordinate and oversee all security vendors who operate at HQ and remotely and ensure that standard operating procedures are up to date and adhered to.
Plan, develop and implement physical security guidelines, policies and procedures employing an understanding of security business controls, strategies, and methodologies to ensure ongoing security in key areas, such as: access control at all facilities, technical security and early-warning systems, mail and package screening , emergency planning and response, managing unwanted pursuit, etc.
Maintain living database of global security threats and be aware of executive travel to understand and mitigate risks.
Develop security metrics tracking processes.
Develop post orders and operating procedures for each specific post.
Draft security reports and develop metrics to measure the security effectiveness.
Work with various government agencies to foster and maintain a positive working relationship (local, state and federal).
Develop and implement a proactive process for identifying threats and coordinating with officials.
Conduct all security investigations and coordinate with external law enforcement, emergency services, building security, and government agency professionals on an as needed basis.​
Recommend industry’s best practices and available tools to protect the physical facilities and the employees on site.​
Maintain all information and physical security systems and recommend new procedures and upgrades, as appropriate with substantiation.​
Execute physical and technology based security audits at all company locations, to include proposing recommendations based on industry best practices and experience.
Ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity, and availability of security systems.​
Develop a Threat Assessment team within the company, in coordination with various relevant stakeholders.
Keep senior management informed of security related issues on an ongoing basis (periodic reporting).
Generate risk assessments for travel and develop a company-wide travel safety program.

Requirements:
10+ yrs of professional experience in corporate security, or related. High tech environment – preferred.
Bachelor degree and/or CPP Certification or similar – a plus.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
Proven leadership and organizational skills with a practical, operational sense.
Effective at developing internal and external partnerships.
Experience as a liaison with international, federal, state and local government and law enforcement/information sources – a plus)
Exemplary and unquestionable personal integrity and moral compass .
