For over 50 years, Centerra has been a leader in workforce development and training.Centerra is seeking a ERT Officer to work at our Kennedy Space Center Contract.
 
Responsibilities:
Under general supervision, participate in the activities as a member of security assigned to the Emergency Response Team (ERT).Attend and Pass a SWAT/ERT basic course. Participate in weekly training that is demanding and physical in nature.
Continuously maintain weapons qualifications at 90% or better with all assigned and team issued systems.
Maintain physical standards to meet contract requirements.
Maintain all related technical certifications required by ERT and NASA.
Be prepared to work varied hours and days off to meet the operational requirements of the Team.
Be subject to 24/7 recall for emergencies.
Conduct all duties outlined by the ERT Commander, Shift Supervisor, or Team Lead.
 
Qualifications:
Candidates must pass the following Security Officers Physical Fitness Requirements to be hired and retain employment:
1. Pass the Physical Abilities Test (PAT) annually, which consists of the following:
a. From a seated position exit vehicle, open trunk, and grab baton-flashlight
b. Complete 220 yard run
c. Navigate an obstacle course [40 inch wall, three hurdles (24 inch, 12 inch, 18 inch
high), serpentine pylon maneuver, low crawl) - total length 115 feet]
d. Complete 50 foot sprint
e. Drag 150 lb dummy 100 feet
f. Repeat obstacle course
g. Repeat 220 yard run
h. Return baton-flashlight to trunk and enter vehicle
i. Time Stops when employee is seated with both hands on the steering wheel
2. Complete the PAT annually within 7 minutes.
3.Meet the physical standards set in NPR 1600.1.
• Obstacle / Agility Course
• At least 25 Push ups
• At least 25 Sit ups
• 1 mile run in less than 7 minutes 45 seconds.
• A task specific physical fitness test; e.g., controlling a dog, running with a breaching ram, carrying/dragging a hostage dummy.
4.Weapons Qualification: The following weapons qualification scores must be achieved the same day as the physical fitness exam.
• Handgun – 90 or higher
• Shotgun – 90 or higher (if issued)
• Rifle – 90 or higher (if issued)
• Sub-machine gun (if issued)
5. A written test – (Score 90% or better)
6. Successful completion of an oral interview.
