Job Description:
I. Job Purpose
To lead in the implementation and enforcement of safety regulations established by Marana Aerospace in detection and prevention of crime. To provide security for the facility, the property stored on the facility and its personnel.

II. Working Conditions
Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires frequent bending or stooping. Requires occasional climbing, reaching above shoulder level, crouching, squatting, kneeling, and balancing. Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to or over 100 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and responding to emergency situations.
Equipment Operated: flashlight, two way radio and computer.
Work Location: Both indoor and outdoor locations throughout entire facility.
Potential Hazards:Confrontation with armed individuals, exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on Material Safety Data Sheets, desert wildlife and insects, working on unprotected heights or around moving machinery.

III. Job Duties & Responsibilities 

Essential Job Functions :
Specific Responsibilities
· Monitors and patrols Marana Aerospace both by vehicle and on foot to ensure protection of company property and all aircraft stored on the facility.
· Reports danger areas in streets, flightline, storage and other related areas of the facility.
· Provides first response to aircraft emergency or other emergency occurring on the facility.
· Investigates incidents or accidents documenting incident reports with photographs and diagrams.
· Controls visitor entry to the Air Park. Issues parking permits and visitor badges.
· Communicates with persons desiring entrance to restricted areas examining their authorization to the areas and apprehending unauthorized persons as directed.
· Conducts visual searches on premises for unauthorized entry including entering buildings and/or aircraft.
· Conducts searches of vehicles or persons as required.
· Controls on base traffic including vehicle stops and issuing written traffic citations when appropriate.
· Questions and records verbal or written statements of principals and eyewitnesses of incidents such as personal injury damage to company property, fire, or theft.
· Completes and submits daily activity reports for security department.
Lead Responsibilities:
· Performs orientation and on-the-job training for employees. Ensures that training is documented in employee training records.
· Enforces company policies and safety regulations and the proper use of equipment and ensures that quality standards are met.
· Coordinates activities of workers including assigning work duties for maximum utilization of manpower and analyzing and resolving work problems.
· Maintains communications within area of responsibility, informing employees as to plans and progress and promoting teamwork and cooperation.

Marginal Job Functions:
· Communicates on the telephone.
· Ensures that proper training is provided for personnel and documented in employee training records and performs on-the-job training as needed.
· Conducts walking or motorized tours for visitors as requested.
· Distributes information to tenants of Marana Aerospace and assists with check in of hotel guests as needed.
· Conducts switchboard operator’s duties as needed.
· Performs duties of Security Supervisor in his/her absence.
· Performs department housekeeping duties as required.


IV. Job Specifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficiency with protective equipment including flashlight, and two way radio; working knowledge of security and safety standards and procedures; ability to read, write, and understand the English language and to follow and administer verbal and written instruction; ability to compose information in a clear and concise written format; interpersonal skills required to interact effectively with a variety of personnel and the public; ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations and under mental stress; ability to safely drive and operate a standard shift automotive vehicle and other applicable equipment; ability to work without supervision.
Education/Training: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Three to five years’ experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
Certificates/Licenses: Current valid Arizona driver’s license with clear driving record for past three years required.
