The trainer will be concentrating on training young puppies as well as previously trained protection sport dogs. Most dogs will be prepared to provide the first line of defense for families seeking security and companionship.The trainer will evaluate the ability of canines to acclimate into new and various environments. Should be able to assess suitability to be utilized as family protection dogs. Assist when needed in instruction of new handlers and trainers. Be familiar with usage of canine training equipment to insure safety of canines and trainers. Ability to use food and play reward reinforcement techniques. Train and manage multiple canines through the training process, from initial training through program completion. Secure and maintain cleanliness of canine training and living areas, training aids, equipment, company vehicles, assets and resources. Follow established training protocols and company directives in the training and general care of canines. The above essential functions are representative of the major duties of this job classification. Specific duties and responsibilities may vary based upon company priorities. Experience in the practices of canine training within dog sport organizations and or military K9 associations preferred but not necessary. Total comprehensive compensation package including health insurance, paid holidays/ vacation time and sick time. Three bedroom/two bath home also available nearby.
