Description
Provide Security Dispatch support for physical security operations by coordinating security activities on shifts. Receives emergency and non-emergency calls. Acts as liaison with Physical Security shift leaders on issues involving training and shift operations. Interacts with other emergency organizations (fire, police etc). Provides administrative support for shift. Will be required to perform various Security patrols and duties.
Dispatches officers on routine and emergency basis. Tracks officers positions and ensures officers are at the appropriate post. Monitors and responds to emergency systems i.e. Fire Panel, 2911 Line, Radio. Monitors INET and SCIF alarm computers. Responds to alarms. Notifies Security Management of problems with the system and performs follow up. Creates Access Rosters and makes changes as requested. Enters data into DAR and activity logs. Issues badges and updates various badge tracking programs. Provides Customer Service for employees and guests. Monitors closed circuit television systems. Perform periodic CCTV "Patrols" utilizing PTZ system. Makes recommendations to security management for improving systems. Trains and develops contract officers, shift leads and command operators in relevant systems and dispatch responsibilities. Act as alternate in the absence of Physical Security Shift Lead. Identifies risks and recommends solutions to mitigate these risks. All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Prefer an AS Degree in criminal justice, security administration, business administration, public administration or related equivalency plus a minimum of 2 years experience with a Police, Fire, Security, Military or Emergency Medical organization (experience can be used in lieu of degree).
Computer literacy is mandatory with demonstrated experience with MS Office Suite.
Knowledge of security access control and closed circuit television systems is needed with the ability to troubleshoot and correct issues.
Must have excellent communication skills (written, presentation, and managing meetings).
This position requires tact and diplomacy. The ability to manage high stress and pressure situations is also mandatory.
Candidates need to be flexible to first, second or third shift.
Due to the nature of our work this position requires the ability to obtain a Department of Defense security clearance. You must be able to travel on occasion.
This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the successful applicants skills, education and experience.
