Description
The primary responsibility of the Director of Global Security is to develop, implement, direct and manage cost-effective security programs, policies, procedures and processes to protect the company from internal and external threats to its people, businesses, information and reputation. This is the most senior executive position in the Corporate Security Department with global responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and manage security standards, training, policies, procedures and best practices for the protection of the company’s assets to achieve organizational objectives and minimize adverse legal consequences
Conduct facility surveys and risk assessments in order to evaluate the current status of the physical security, fire detection, emergency and/or restoration capabilities. Select, design, implement and manage security countermeasures to reduce the risk of loss
Develop and manage budgets and financial controls to achieve the mission of the Security Department
Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate policies, training, procedures and methods for the protection of employees, including executive protection, to provide a safe and secure work environment. (Note: Implement a company-wide workplace violence program)
Develop and present security awareness programs to employees to achieve organizational goals and objectives
Develop and maintain relevant intelligence information from various sources on threats to the business or its employees. As appropriate, advise senior management and law enforcement of such threats
Provide assistance to management, legal counsel and human resources in developing strategic and tactical plans for responding to labor disputes
Provide assistance to management, legal counsel and human resources in implementing and managing background screening process for the purpose of identifying and avoiding the hiring of individuals not meeting company standards
Prepare and implement in conjunction with the Human Resources, Communications, Legal and Information Technology Departments, a company-wide program to provide for the identification and protection of vital, sensitive company information. Coordinate with Information and Technology Department on information security policy, procedures, programs or methods to prevent unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information and intellectual property
Develop and manage external relations programs to establish liaison between the organization, public sector law enforcement, other companies and industry trade associations
Develop, implement and manage global investigative programs and process to ensure investigations are warranted, conducted in compliance with law, regulations, policy and organizational objectives. Provide coordination, assistance, documentation, evidence and testimony to support legal counsel, human resources, ombudsman, audit, etc. in internal investigations and actual or potential criminal and/or civil proceedings. Identify potential catastrophic events and significant security risks that may impact business operations, and understand their probability
Prepare contingency plans for these events to include awareness, training, and the restoration of critical systems. Develop a security emergency preparedness response plan and train appropriate personnel on its execution

Qualifications
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Subject Matter Expertise / Extensive (15 years +) security management experience in a global corporate environment
Documented success and experience in policy making and leadership roles
Experience in preparing and managing capital and operational budgets
Demonstrated leadership and commitment to ethics and values
Excellent written and presentation skills
CPP designation required

Investigations (CFE or PCI designation desired)

Information Security; working knowledge – but more in depth if also managing / performing CISO role
