This position is available for immediate overseas deployment.
Linguist who is able to review and analyze and translate foreign language source material. Assigned broad area of translation responsibility and may delegate portions of work to lower level personnel. Transcribe/translate advanced level graphic and/or voice language material into modern American English in either verbatim or gisted format.
Provide quality control of transcripts and translations of more junior linguists. Operate customer furnished transcription equipment in accordance with operational guidelines. Draft Intelligence reports and provide quality control of reports of more junior personnel. Develop and implement translation methodology and quality control procedures and standards. Prepare and present technical briefings to customer and upper management. Share language expertise with Government or Contractor Language and Intelligence Analysts, and other personnel as required.
Education &Experience
Non-native Linguist - Requires a bachelor's degree or...equivalent and five to seven years of relevant experience.
Native Linguist Requires native level language skills and native education to include high school diploma or equivalent.
Must possess native or near native proficiency in language, a 3/3 or higher rating on the DLPT or other accepted test measured on the ILR scale.
Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a Secret or Top Secret/SCI clearance. All positions will be overseas supporting US government operations.
Physical Demand:
CONUS: Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
OCONUS: Demands will vary according to work environment. Often work schedule will require 12 hour days, 7 days a week when working in harsh environments and require strict medical and dental screening before deployment overseas.
