We are seeking exceptional candidates for a Security Program Manager to join our Corporate Security team. Corporate Security is seen as a critical success factor at BASF. It is the department’s responsibility to assess risk factors and identify measures to appropriately mitigate those risks. It serves a critical role in ensuring BASF remains a good corporate citizen and responsible member of the nation’s Critical Infrastructure by compliance with emerging security regulations (Department of Homeland Security, Environmental Protection Agency, US Coast Guard, Department of Transportation) and mandated programs such as the Responsible Care Security Program. Corporate Security is a key component of business and communications strategies, and through the American Chemistry Council, the chemical industry’s reputation as it applies to security readiness and advocacy.

Your responsibilities would include the following:
- Development, implementation and management of various security programs, both global and regional, for North America (i.e. workplace violence, information security, etc.).
- Ensures appropriate protection of company personnel, information and property through the support and implementation of corporate security policies and procedures.
- Provide support for policy development through research and draft of initial proposals.
- Help support the HQ security staff as well as other regional staff in various activities (i.e. investigations, threat assessment, special event security, etc.).
- Responsible for security reporting, preparing and analyzing data.
- Work frequently and directly with outside resources for investigative support as well as staff from internal audit and other internal organizations.

Qualifications – BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration or equivalent area of study.
- Must have at least 5 years in the management of industrial security operations and services, acquired through progressively responsible positions in the field or experience in law enforcement.
- Some experience in providing investigative support in criminal and special investigations is required.
- Working knowledge and experience in implementing a ‘safeguarding proprietary information’ program is required.
- Experience in trend analysis and strong analytical skills is a plus.
- Effective working knowledge of US law, regulatory agencies, law enforcement agencies and business culture.
- Knowledge of security hardware, alarm and video surveillance systems; electronic security issues and safeguards.
- Expertise in a broad range of industrial security areas of concern, with special emphasis on chemical industry security, vulnerability assessment methodology, physical security, complex investigations, interviewing techniques, crisis management, executive protection, control of regulated products, supply chain security, international terrorist goals, methods, capabilities and limitations.
