Job Description
Work with an Air Force client and serve as the lead SME, analyzing strategy and policy development. Author original content and participate in a broad range of Air Force client activities and programs, including security assistance, foreign internal defense, security force assistance, stability operations, building partnership capacity, section 1206 program, antiterrorism, foreign military financing program, foreign military sales, international military education and training, and peace operations. Act as the clients’ SME for the Air Force lessons learned program, Air Force doctrine, Air Force global partnership strategy, building partnership capability-based assessment, presidential policy directive 23, various DoD directive and instruction documents, and Air Force client policy. The position will require periodically mentoring junior employees.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
-Experience with the military as an attaché, SCO, or FAO
-Experience with doctrine and policy development
-Experience with presidential policy directive 23, stability operations, security force assistance, security cooperation development, and applicable DoDDs and DoDIs
-Experience with funding decisions and advocacy for Air Force client programs
-Experience with Air Staff coordination processes
-Knowledge of various lessons learned studies
-Knowledge of national-level policy documents and how they inter-relate, including how does the NSS, NMS, GEF, theater plans, and service level plans affect the Air Force client
-BA or BS degree
-Graduate of Air Command and Staff College or equivalent
-Level I International Affairs Certification Program
Additional Qualifications:
-10+ years of experience in an Air Force client role
-Experience with Army FAO and RAO or Air Force SCO and IAS
-Experience with doctrine and policy development and authoring original content
-Experience with disclosure and technology transfer, strategic communications, section 1206 programs, and IAS program support
-Ability to show retirement from 25+ years of military service
-MA or MS degree
-Certified level 1 or higher by DISAM International Affairs certification program
-Graduate of Air War College or equivalent PME from the Army or Navy, or Graduate of School of Advanced Air and Space Studies or Service Equivalent

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
