Within the Corporate Maritime Policy (CMP) Department, the Manager of Maritime Security Operations will serve as the Deputy to the Director of Maritime Security. He/she will be the Manager responsible for security posture review within areas of increased threat, the development of strategies to better protect visiting Carnival Corporation & plc assets and the expert on counter piracy operations. Working with operating line resources, US, and host nation security forces around the globe, he/she will utilize specialized knowledge in information collection, security assessments, and threat identification to meet Carnival Corporation & plc security and asset protection requirements.
• Serve as the Deputy to the Director of Maritime Security
• Provide the primary supervisory oversight regarding daily maritime security operations; coordinate, collaborate, communicate, and provide sound responses to RFIs affecting Group Maritime Security
tasks and issues
• Direct and lead the Global Port Assessment Program
• Maintain the online Maritime, Security Operations database
• Direct, oversee, and conduct corporate level security related investigations when requested by RAAS, assigned by senior management, or where otherwise appropriate.
• Coordinate US and foreign government liaison & outreach initiatives
• Responsible for establishing long-term relationships with U.S. Embassy Country Teams, and other U.S. Government officials abroad
• Manage security related government sponsored programs within various countries designed to share information and develop concrete solutions to operational risks
• Coordinate, lead and ensure compliance with the counter piracy programs for the Carnival Group
• Develop and cultivate Government and industry counter piracy/naval contacts throughout all areas Carnival Corporation & plc assets operate where piracy is a threat
• Distribute “real time” and routine counter piracy information to operating line security departments
• Serve as the Corporate Maritime Security primary representative and lead the development of large strategic security projects across the corporation
• Prepare reports on security matters and conduct security briefings as assigned.
• Conduct investigations of significant security incidents independently or in cooperation with operating line personnel
The Manager of Maritime Security Operations will have the authority to assess threats to the corporation, gaps in security, and non-compliance with standards within his/her essential functions and recommend changes to mitigate those threats.
Requirements: Education:
• 4 year degree or 2 year degree with significant work related experience
o Preferable but not required: Degree in Criminal Justice, International Affairs/Relations, Homeland Security, Security or Risk Management, or other applicable field of study.
Experience:
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a security related field to include a minimum of 5 years prior service in law enforcement, the military and/or the intelligence community
• Experience conducting security inspections or audits for ports and/or facilities overseas
• Ability to conduct security and criminal related investigations
• Experience operating overseas in foreign locations and working with foreign cultures
• Expertise in counter-terrorism, counter-intelligence, and/or force protection
• Proficiency in writing analytical and investigative assessments
