Job Description:
Hiring for an IMMEDIATE position in El Paso Texas as an Instructor Trainer. Candidate will be training Certified Air Force MWD Teams for pre-deployment training. Training will include ability to identify and correct canine or Handler deficiencies in order to prepare the Dog Team for the deployed environment.
-Shall possess MWD Trainer experience with forward deployed area of operation and knowledgeable of USAF SF expeditionary and combat skills operations within the last 5 years
-Must accurately apply knowledge of explosive/drug detection and patrol training protocols
-Must accurately teach MWD handlers and trainers to condition dogs to associate explosive/drug odor in the combat environment
-Must accurately teach correct procedures to develop patrol capabilities
-Must be able to provide the skill and knowledge in working detector/patrol MWDs in the combat environment, in developing training programs, and in training from initial through advanced levels.
-Prepares briefings and communicate dog deficiencies to supervisors, and/or Course Managers
-Ability to operate a six passenger truck with trailer, operate all tactical vehicles
-Minimum of 4 Years Military Working Dog Handler (graduate of Lackland AFB)
-Must have been deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan within last 5 years
-Instructor or Trainer experience required
-Must have knowledge of the Air Force training processes, programs and requirements
-Minimum experience of High School Diploma
-Individuals must possess and maintain a DoD secret clearance
-Possesses computer skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office software
-Initial period will be for 1 year with potential for 2 follow on option years.
-AMK9 will put selected Instructor in a hotel for 2 weeks until they can find housing.
-401K and health insurance participation optional
-Candidate MUST be physically fit and able to operate in desert like conditions (EL Paso) for 8+ hrs a day
-Candidate should be a team player and take direction well, but also have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
