The Chief Security Officer – Software Products & Solutions will be the key thought leader in driving all levels of strategy, vision and execution to deliver on the mission to create an information hub, roadmap and Center of Excellence (CoE) around Product Cybersecurity at GE.
Essential Responsibilities In this Chief Security Officer – Software Products & Solutions role, you will influence and provide expertise to the GE Business Units across the organization by leading the company-wide strategic roadmap and engagement model for product security utilizing business and industry knowledge.

In this role, you will:
Lead the ongoing the security strategy for the Industrial Internet
Lead the overarching strategy for how GE handles security, risk & compliance challenges associated
with the Industrial Internet and the Software Defined Machine.
Enhance Security by Design, own the Security Development Lifecycle at GE including the Secure Development Lifecycle Framework, policy and plan for GE. This includes penetration testing & red team engagement management, training and security standards for product engineering
Ensure the security of the GE Predix Platform – This includes the security architecture of the Platform; on-going security design & development for solutions and creating the Center of Excellence for Secure Development
Establish the framework and operating mechanism for SW COE Security Consulting to the GE Businesses by defining the offerings / capabilities and further outline the program’s size & structure
Bring expertise in addressing the significant challenges in identifying and hiring Industrial Cybersecurity talent, as this segment of talent is in short supply and high demand
Influence leaders across the various GE Business Units, as well as with customers/prospects.
Spearhead the relationship development and technology evaluation for new prospective partnerships and business development activity.
Drive evangelization and education of cybersecurity services by communicating the vision and value.
Analyze and solve complex business problems by leveraging industry knowledge and expertise and being a proactive thinker offering recommendations in cybersecurity to drive change and deliver results.
Promote the use of new technology and industry leading trends as a creative thinker.
Establish a level of trust and credibility by building and maintaining relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
Advocate decision-making and get “buy in” while building partnerships with clients and across the organization by fostering collaboration.
“Think outside of the box” and come up with ideas that will benefit the company.
Skillfully guide and influence through change management and communicate directions clearly.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelors in Computer Science, Analytical/Technical field, or in “STEM” Majors
15 years of experience in technology, business management
8 years of experience in security architecture or related security function
The Chief Security Officer is a high-level individual who will possess a combination of business knowledge, technical skills, people skills, and guide security strategy.

Desired Characteristics
A passionate communicator and proven thought leader in the cybersecurity area with the ability to understand and explain complex problems in a simple and easy to understand manner.
A consultative approach; prior experience with large, industrial security, particularly the critical infrastructure segment.
Trusted advisor to leaders gained by listening, understanding and offering solutions to their core business needs in order to create secure software / hardware product.
Experience with information security related issues involving identity and access management, intrusion detection, forensics, incident management, risk management and/or auditing
Technical experience in network administration, system administration, application development, database administration, and/or data center operations
Knowledge of information security and compliance related issues involving NERC/FERC, ITAR, HIPPA, copyright and software piracy, and similar policies and laws
Strong understanding of industry frameworks, approaches, and standards (ISO27001, COBIT, ITIL, etc.)
CISSP or equivalent certification
Excellent interpersonal skills and being able to work well with others
Strong results driven personality, with a high level of enthusiasm, energy and confidence; a true player/coach.
Exceptional analytical, communication, organizational and presentation skills
Exceptional managerial skills; can hire, train and mentor a highly functioning cybersecurity team.
