Position Description
Summary: Will drive assigned vehicle safely and efficiently transport executives, dignitaries and others to and from government facilities,meetings and special events while performing the following essential duties.
Job Description:
n Reads and understands specific vehicle operating manual and is able to operate every device in the car.
n Reads and understands roadmaps; employs available Global Positioning Satellite navigational devices.
n Obeys all traffic laws and limits.
n Masters “vehicle dynamics”, defensive and escape and evasion driving skills in a scored and evaluated training program; re-trains and re-certifies every two years.
n Advances routes to be followed and alternates.
n Performs and documents route surveys, identifying safe havens and emergency resources, “choke points”, “danger zones”, and “zones of total predictability”.
n Learns and practices surveillance detection and pre-attack recognition and avoidance skills.
n Greets passengers and assists them in entering and leaving the vehicle.
n May assist with baggage handling and with umbrella in foul weather.(Note: In high risk assignments, the security driver is required to remain behind the wheel at all times, and others on the protection detail open doors, handle luggage and umbrellas, etc.)
n Maintains automobile in clean, polished, flawless operating condition.
n Visually inspects and manually tests vehicle pre-departure and before accepting passengers.
n Employs vehicle bomb-search protocol when necessary.
n Maintains and operates communications devices, emergency response and contingency equipment, including fire extinguisher, flares or reflectors, chains, shovel, blankets, survival supplies, defensive and diversionary devices.
n Responds to medical emergencies occurring to passengers en route.
n Drives during irregular hours in daylight and nighttime hours; stays overnight on extended trips.
n Interacts effectively with company and government personnel on issues such as schedule, routes, security and executive protection.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
US Citizenship and hold and maintain TS/SCI clearance required
Must pass driving record (MVR) check
Excellent verbal communication skills including professional etiquette
High School diploma or GED is required
Willing to submit to CI Poly at the request of the customer
Excellent written communication skills Exellent interpersonal skills
