Job Description: Advantage SCI is accepting applications for qualified Spanish-speaking Law Enforcement Training Instructors to assist a federal agency supporting law enforcement training abroad. Current language requirement is Spanish. Qualified individuals will have experience in international law enforcement/training and will be fully capable of providing services related to tactical training, curriculum development, and customized technical assistance. Instructors will support the mission requirements set forth by a federal government contract.
Summary of duties include:
Conducting training at various venues abroad, in a classroom an/or field setting, as identified by the government agency
Developing, rewriting, and/or revising curriculum, course materials, and language services for any training-related requirement
Providing services related to the agency’s courses, special programs, advanced consultations, assessments, reviews, and capability-building activities
Adjusting to changing agency needs based on current international and political circumstances, technologies, and law enforcement emphasis
Minimum Requirements:
Law Enforcement experience
Teaching experience and the ability to deliver classroom instruction and practical training in Spanish
Must have excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of formal education and experience
Must possess a valid United States Passport
Must be able and willing to travel overseas on short notice, if required
Flexibility to commit to training schedules within a short time frame, with the ability to provide services for approximately one (1) to five (5) week-long periods
Ability to pass a background check for disciplinary, criminal, and credit issues
Ability to produce up-to-date medical records
Be in excellent health
Ability to pass a medical and psychological evaluation
Preferred Skills/Experience:
Counterdrug operations and/or criminal investigations experience
Cultural and situational awareness of host country, as well as experience working in Latin America in requested field
Tactical training experience with crisis response teams in background investigations, basic police investigative methods, and defensive driving
Experience with training and/or curriculum development
Technical assistance experience with weapons, intelligence, and polygraphs
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
