The employee in this position is responsible for managing teams of proprietary security guards as they control access to JPMorgan Chase & Co. facilities or events, and for the protection of customers, employees, tenants, visitors and assets. This responsibility includes direct oversight and performance management of the guard staff, delivery of appropriate training, completion of work schedules and staffing assignment reports, and other administrative duties. In this role, the employee will be required to complete additional specialized training and comply with licensing requirements and certifications necessary to carry a firearm as part of their duties.

Global Security and Military Affairs (GS&MA) safeguards the firm's employees and assets throughout the world. This responsibility includes the development of security and safety policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative compliance, Security Guard management and alarm response, crisis management, ATM, branch and corporate building security and customer safety, physical crime investigations, workplace violence, fire and life safety, executive protection, due diligence, pre-employment screening, security operations on a global basis, fraud Investigations and cyber security.



Managerial Duties:
Oversees performance of proprietary and contract security guards.
Interviews and recommends security guards for employment.
Trains security guards on new assignments.
Plans and schedules work assignments.
Functions as the shift or site supervisor at the assigned location.
Assigns security guards to special patrols as needed.
Coaches and appraises proprietary security guards. Provides continuous feedback on performance.
Implements approved policy and procedural changes as required.

Decision-Making Authority:
Recommends security policies, procedures and training programs
Recommends performance management initiatives
Plans unit’s workload and coverage
Evaluates staff’s performance
Controls crisis situations

Reports:
Receives and reviews routine security logs and reports that document all security-related activities at the site. Follows through on resolving potential or existing issues.
Receives and reviews reports from staff on needed repairs and maintenance of security equipment and devices. Follows through on resolving potential or existing issues.

Other Services:
May perform services of an armed security guard in emergency response situations or in any scenario as required by GS&I management.
May perform special assignments as required.

Qualifications

Specialized Training:
Training in fire safety, CPR, and crime prevention
HR 218 Certification

Other:
Must have a valid driver’s license
May be required to visit other locations as emergencies occur, or if needed for special assignments
When relieving security guards, may be subject to extended periods of physical activity (standing, walking, exposure to adverse weather elements, etc.)
May be required to transfer to a different shift.
May be required to work extended hours and weekends
Is on call outside regular working hours
Works a non-standard workweek (standard workweek for this purpose is defined as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). May be called upon to work weekend, evening, or night shift hours.


Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or related field and have law enforcement or military experience
