The Security Specialist will be responsible for being a subject matter expert on all things related to Program/Facility Security (CPSO/CSSO/FSO) and will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with Government counterparts as it relates to our contractual requirements.

Responsibilities:
Initiates and implements policies and procedures to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs, Special Access Programs (SAP), and to protect SCI/SAP resources. Acts as resident expert on all SCI/SAP security matters. Functions as the technical authority in all other areas of classified security and classification guidance.
Develops goals and objectives that integrate organizational missions and security requirements. Researches, interprets, analyzes and applies Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives (DCIDs), Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, Army / Air Force Manuals, Army Regulations / Air Force Instructions, and local Operating Instructions.
Serves as the SCI/SAP Control Officer responsible for establishing, managing, and controlling all collateral and SCI/SAP classified information and material within the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs)/Special Access Facilities (SAPF's) affecting the company's mission. Ensures SCIFs/SAPF's comply with all applicable construction and physical requirements, standards, and regulations as delineated by government program security officers.
Conducts required self-inspections of all security programs and meets with DSS Industrial Security Specialist/Program Security Officers annually or as requested to review facility and personnel security requirements as required by the JAFAN/ICD/NISPOM (National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual)
Monitors compliance with corporate security policies and Government contractual requirements
Maintains contacts and relationships with government sponsors and other related organizations
Prepares and conducts security awareness training and education programs for cleared employees. Conducts initial and refresher briefings and de-briefings as required.​
Maintains security documentation and personnel security files in accordance with DSS and JAFAN, ICD, and NISPOM requirements
Perform various JPAS administrative duties to include interpretation of person summaries for eligibility and access, run periodic review reports, in-and out- process employees, submit RRU’s.​
Prepare and submit VAR’s (Visit Authorization Requests) for site access and submit to appropriate government entities as required.​ Maintain access and visitor control log(s) required by our contracts
Serve as liaison with external alarm monitoring provider and other private security providers to ensure security of controlled areas; respond to after hour’s calls regarding emergencies and alarms as required
Appoints Local SCI/SAP courier officials that have a requirement to courier SCI/SAP and coordinates with the Defense Courier Service (DCS) when required
Responsible for storage, maintenance and accountability of classified material

Submit and coordinate Foreign Travel Requests to appropriate agencies​
Coordinate and collaborate with other company operations and project managers on issues and policies related to information protection and general security
Work closely with the ISSM, facilities personnel, and corporate leadership (as needed)
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Candidate must have an active TS clearance - active SCI clearance preferred or at least a willingness and ability to qualify for SCI (e.g. submit to a polygraph every 5 years) as a condition of employment
Experienced in researching, interpreting, analyzing and applying Presidential Executive Orders, Director Central Intelligence Directives, Defense Intelligence Agency Manuals, DoD Manuals, Navy Manuals, Air Force Manuals, Air Force Instructions, and local Operating Instructions. Experienced in managing and complying with Sensitive Compartmented Information/Special Access Facilities, construction and physical requirements, standards and regulations.
Thorough understanding of requirements and regulations related to classified government materials and general operational/industrial security issues (e.g. JAFAN, ICD, NISPOM, other DoD regulations, etc.)
Strong proficiency in JPAS
Proven ability to conduct self-inspections of company security programs.​ Track record of passing DoD facility security compliance inspections.
Active DoD membership and participation in security related professional organizations​preferre
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent organizational skills including the ability to maintain and organize data and files
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Ability to work as part of a team with other company organizations
Proficient with computer based tools including Microsoft Office
