Job Description
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking an expert in survival training to oversee a SERE training program at the United States Army Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) School. The Program Manager will be responsible for the performance and performance quality of all work performed under the contract.
The qualified candidate will be expected to provide overall management oversight to support total program execution which includes identifying and allocating resources, providing regular technical and financial reports to the customer team, maintain schedule and budget, and monitor the overall progress of the program. The Program Manager will be expected to identify efficiencies and discrepancies, address them in a timely manner, mitigate all risk associated with corrective actions, and document and resolve all problems.This person shall act with full authority for the company and will be available to interact, as required, with the Contracting Officer (KO) and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) throughout the term of the contract.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Be present at the “work-site” during all times work is being performed or assign an alternate to represent the Program Manager.
Have the knowledge base to validate training syllabi and instructor guides for academic and operational SERE training
Track, maintain, and update training logs, instructor evaluations and student handouts, note taking guides, and phase critiques.
Supervise all instructors, assign all work to instructors, and coordinate with the Contracting Officer or Contracting Officer’s Representative as necessary.
Job Requirements
Must possess a minimum of a Bachelors Degree or in lieu of a degree must have a minimum of 10 years teaching experience in a SERE related course, preferably Army SERE.
Must be a former graduate of a “C” level SEREcourses and have experience in teaching SERE techniques
Must possess skill in expressing thoughts logically and clearly to a mixed audience.
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Current knowledge of Department of Defense directive guidance, SERE course content, and SERE course control documents related to captivity survival.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Department of Defense and allied captivity survival and resistance techniques.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of meeting survival needs while in a captivity environment.
Capable of obtaining and meeting requirements of a Secret security clearance.
Physically fit with ability to present a professional military appearance and bearing. Medical physical exam within the last 12-months with no chronic conditions that would prevent performance of duties.
Candidate must be drug-free with ability to successfully pass drug screening test
