Description:
This is an immediate backfill for a current employee supporting NSW Group 1 in San Diego CA . Must have Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience and a current US Secret security clearance.
Sniper Instructors shall be qualified Naval Special Warfare Sniper or equivalent with combat experience. Sniper Special Reconnaissance (SR) Instructor shall meet the qualifications as set forth in OPNAVINST 3591.1F (USN Policy and minimum requirements for individual small arms training and qualification). Subject Matter Expert (SME) Sniper Instructors assist with logistical support during planning, classroom instruction, practical field training, final training exercises, and Troop movements with Trip Leader instructors. SME Sniper Instructors teach current Sniper curriculum/TTP during NSWG-1 and NSWG-2 Sniper Unit Level Training. Sniper instruction includes classroom and field practical exercises.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- SOTVS (camera and Video manipulation) Overview and Familiarization.
- ELT 3500 software Familiarization.
- EPA Development.
- NSW RSO.
- Special Reconnaissance.
- Camouflage & Concealment techniques.
- Hide construction (desert, urban, and jungle).
- Optics/Observation drills and techniques.
- NSW Helicopter over watch operations.
- Long range marksmanship.
- Curriculum management.
- Urban over watch.
- Ballistic computer familiarization.
- Special Reconnaissance data collection and reporting techniques.
- Stalking.
- Land navigation.
- Management and operation of Portable Infantry Target System.
- Perform other tasks as may be required.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires bachelor’s degree and zero to two years of related experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work requires standing, walking, running, jumping from heights, heavy lifting, bending and carrying supplies and equipment. Be able to operate in full body armor and helmets. Work performed inside a classroom and outdoors, regardless of weather conditions and may expose the employee to inclement weather.
