Job Description
Harris Corporation has an immediate opening for a Security Manager to join their team in the Annapolis Junction office. The individual will serve on the staff of the Senior Manager, Harris Mission Sustainment Security.
Assist the Senior Manager, Harris Mission Sustainment Security in establishing organizational strategies and implementation priorities, enlisting the participation of key customers and security staff.
This position will manage a team of approximately 8 security professionals, across multiple sites, including some out of state. Oversee all aspects of multiple collateral, special access (SAP) and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs to include information assurance, personnel security, document control, physical security, and security education, awareness, and training, and be accountable to all Government customers. Customers are diverse with a wide variety of requirements. Candidate must be flexible and able to jump from one set of regulations to another. Primary interpreter of security classification guides and DD254s. Must be experienced in writing DD254s at multiple levels, as both Prime and Sub. Must be versatile: a poised and polished leader in front of customers and company executives, yet willing to roll up the sleeves and get the job done. Ensures all government regulations and company policies are met. Oversees special security programs according to the NISPOM and ICDs. Work as a team with security staff in other business areas to leverage common systems and processes. Responsible for team building and mentoring staff; providing guidance to Security team; identifying growth opportunities and identifying ways to improve overall procedures. Assist staff, both local and visiting, with security-related issues on a daily basis. Strategic planning for long range goals and objectives. Managing detailed reports and maintaining accurate and complete records. Effectively managing multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. Effectively taking action to solve problems while exhibiting sound judgment. Managing conflict and resolving team member issues effectively and efficiently. Responsible for developing and tracking office metrics and statistics. Responsible for leading and participating on special projects, including process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
BS/BA degree, or 10 years of experience in a Security position with a demonstrated success record.
U.S. Citizen, Current SSBI with Top Secret SCI Clearance; polygraph preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years experience supporting Defense and Intelligence Community programs.
Experience in managing a budget, and flexibility in shifting priorities within the budget as changes occur.
Additional Preferred Skills
The candidate must be an experienced security manager with strong leadership and interpersonal skills with an ability to integrate into a team environment. They must be able to adapt in a highly charged and challenging work environment.
Oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively manage a security team to deliver the highest-quality customer service is preferred.
Must be able to interact with senior /executive management on matters pertaining to both Harris and government security policy and procedures.
Understanding of export control regulatory compliance requirements and Technology Control Plans.
Initiative in pursuing problems, opportunities, and innovative solutions while handling both the micro level of security compliance and the macro level of business opportunities is a plus.
Ability to manage people in the organization to develop their skills and knowledge, and align the resources to accomplish the department’s priorities is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of the NISPOM, NISPOM Supplement, ICDs, OPSEC, and related security for a broad range of customers in DoD and the Intelligence Community is preferred.
Knowledge of resources and practices in the intelligence community; must be current on changing requirements is a plus.
Knowledge of best practices in implementing physical security methods, consistent with the heightened risk environment while minimizing adverse effects on staff and visitors is a plus.
Experience in designing and conducting security education and training programs is a plus
Ability to implement compliance programs is preferred.
This position requires the candidate to already possess an active SSBI with TS SCI clearance and to maintain the clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
