Job Description
The responsibility of the Corporate Security Investigator is to support the retail stores by identifying and investigating potential internal and external fraud and assisting with the development and implementation of a comprehensive asset protection strategy. The successful individual will provide leadership, expertise, and training to the company Associates with the end goal of reducing inventory shortage and controllable losses. The primary focus of this position will be inventory loss. Required Skills

Core Competencies:
Knowledge and familiarity with formal cash handling policies and procedures, theft detection, prevention techniques and procedures, inventory control, security access violations and procedures, fraud, and financial and data audit techniques and procedures.
Experience in conducting formal fraud interviews, both in person and by phone. This person will be required to communicate effectively, and work cooperatively, with company associates and management as well as law enforcement and court personnel.
Ability to provide support to field teams by providing research and analysis of potential fraud issues and loss exposure
and develop and deliver training on Corporate Security topics.
Research and prepare financial reports as requested by the Corporate Security Manager.
Prepare and present training initiatives to field and corporate associates.
Attention to detail, acute observations, and analytical skills are essential.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Become subject matter expert on inventory control working directly with the inventory team.
Be a significant contributor to the design, implementation, and monitoring of an anti-fraud / corporate security program. The program's aim will be to help detect, deter and prevent unauthorized use of company assets. The position utilizes business information, financial reporting systems and procedures to analyze; identify risk areas; investigate anomalies and inconsistencies; control weaknesses and inadequate record keeping; errors and unusual transactions which could be fraud, improper or unlawful expenditures and/or unauthorized operations.
Develop audit procedures to detect potential fraud.
Conduct investigations and interviews related to internal and external fraud and theft.
Manage and communicate the overall Corporate Security efforts and shortage reduction performance to company leadership and external partners such as insurance carriers.
Develop and execute Corporate Security plans and shrinkage programs.
Utilize company data systems to detect and prevent losses related to operational and criminal issues.
Frequent communication with law enforcement, court personnel and prosecutors regarding pending investigations and prosecutions.
Collaboration with industry peers regarding Corporate Security industry trends and best practices.
Assist with recovery of restitution for theft losses through statutory civil demand programs.
Other duties as may be assigned by the Corporate Security Manager or company executives.
Required Experience
REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Proficiency in all standard Microsoft Office programs and advanced skills in internet usage required
Working knowledge of the physical security aspects of retail operation including alarms, EAS, CCTV, inventory management policies and procedures, and lock and key policies and procedures.
Strong interpersonal skills; good follow-up skills.
Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college.
Three (3) yeards of experience in a Corporate Security or Inventory Management environment.
Accounting/audit experience strongly preferred.
Prior law enforcement or judicial experience is preferred.
Prior retail business operations experience is required.
