Description:
This is a backfill for a current employee supporting NSW Group 1 in San Diego CA. Must
be a former U.S. Navy SEAL or applicable warfare specialty and havea current US Secret security clearance.
Land Warfare (LW) instructors augment a Land Warfare/Small Unit Tactics active duty training cadre. They assist with coordinating and supervising logistics support for training, perform support functions for classroom and field instruction, and supplement active duty SEAL instructors performing as opposing forces (OP4) during final training exercises. LW instructors also perform maintenance and accountability for 90 remote targeting systems critical to training. Their most significant role is in the preparation of ranges prior to training evolutions, operating the remote target systems according to RSO specifications, and performing as an RSO during evolutions. These duties allow the active duty personnel to remain focused on the conduct of the evolution and delivering instruction to SEALs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weapons Marksmanship & manipulation.
- Curriculum management.
- NSW RSO.
- Personal gear manipulation.
- Basic LW tactics.
- Automatic weapons familiarization.
- Demolitions.
- Night Vision application.
- Tactical training in NSW Immediate Action Drills (IADs), patrolling, CSAR, ambush, and raids.
- Management and operation of Portable Infantry Target System.
. Personnel requirements. Contractor personnel shall:
- Be former U.S. Navy SEAL or applicable warfare specialty.
- Have working knowledge of NSW missions, LW TTP, Training requirements, AND Mission Essential Task.
- Be physically fit and be able to run several range iterations of Range evolutions in a row as a RSO.
All applicants shall meet basic project requirements below:
- Possess a valid state driver’s license, and be able to obtain appropriate special licensing/certification for equipment required for their specific position. All licensing/certification shall be accomplished at no additional cost to the Government.
- Possess excellent work ethics, verbal and written communication skills, and be detailed and accurate in performing all administrative and routine functions.
- Be physically fit and able to work in an environment that is fast-paced while completing multiple tasks, and meeting stringent timelines.
- Work alternate schedules to satisfy training requirements.
- Write correspondence in a military format, when necessary.
- Attend and satisfactorily complete the required training associated with job responsibilities.
- Cross train with other contracted positions to fill in during absences.
- Maintain a clean workspace.
- Perform data entry on IBM®-compatible computers utilizing current versions of Microsoft® Windows®, and Microsoft Office® applications like Access®, Excel®, Word®, PowerPoint® and other related programs.
- Travel multiple times to various CONUS locations for extended periods (up to four weeks) by Government or commercial conveyance, as required.

Typically requires bachelor’s degree and seven to nine years of related experience..
