initiatives.Position Summary and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Security Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the day to day security operations, which includes staffing, protection of assets and coordination of the Global Security Standardization Program (GSSP) while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
Essential Functions
1. Provide leadership and supervision to the Security Officers.
2. Ensure Security Post Orders are maintained in high detail and followed by Security staff by observing, interacting and correcting when necessary.
3. Review and evaluate all Security logs for accuracy of Security activity.
4. Conduct and document task observations on Security personnel as required.
5. Coordinate and evaluate GSSP.
6. Conduct low to medium level investigations related to, but not limited to: asset misappropriation, workplace violence, fraud, human rights violations, criminal matters and corruption.
7. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
8. Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
9. Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
10. Works without risk or harm to self and others.
11. Punctuality and regular attendance required.
12. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
13. Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
1. Ensure that all Security Officers are representative of the Kinross Way and perform their duties in a professional manner.
2. Must possess to knowledge and skills to conduct a low to medium level investigation.
3. Some college experience preferred.
4. 5 years previous experience in Law Enforcement, Security or Asset Protection.
5. 2 years Supervisory or Management experience.
6. The willingness to obtain a Global Security Standardization Management Certification within one year.
7. CPP, PCI, PSP or CHS certification preferred.
8. Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
9. General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
10. Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
11. Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
12. Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
13. Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
14. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
15. Requires valid driver’s license.
