RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Counter-Improvised Explosive Device/UAS Trainer serves as a subject matter expert as part of the WSTC-KU Udairi Range Support Team.
Assist units with planning and development that support the training objectives, to include scenarios, as well as the following:
Serves as mentor and trainer for a Task Force-level platoon.
Maintains currency in order to support Unified Land Operations.
Facilitates Unified Land Operations and Combined Arms Live Fire Exercises and all coupled training.
Prepared to conduct Platoon-level Training across the Unified Land Operations.
Teach, coach and mentors a TF-level platoon with the following:
Principle duties consisting of the key areas of tactical employment, training, administration, personnel management, maintenance, force protection, and sustainment of a platoon.
Integration and synchronization of forces for Unified Land Operations including other combined arms and combat support elements, civil affairs (CA), psychological operations (PSYOP), interpreters, media, unmanned aerial system (UAS) and robotics teams.
Command and control through subordinate leaders.
Employment of UAS in order to accomplish its mission according to the company commander’s intent and concept.
Maneuvering of UAS and other assigned elements.
Mission analysis and troop-leading procedures (TLP) and issuance operation orders for platoon tactical operations.
Maintaining situational awareness and understanding.
Resourcing the UAS, other elements, and requests company support when needed.
Providing a timely and accurate tactical picture to the company commander and subordinate units.
Implementation of effective measures for force protection, security, and accountability of forces and systems.
Conducts Platoon-level AAR.
Assists in the planning and development of realistic Unified Land Operations and Combined Arms Live Fire Exercises.
Responsible for the execution of a formal training and including ULO tasks.
Perform additional duties as prescribed by the Senior Range Operations Manager.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires demonstrated work experience as it relates to the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities outlined in the description of the duties.
Former Combat Arms/Operations with a strong tactical background in Unified Land Operations.
Thorough knowledge of current Army doctrine, Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTPs).
HBCT/CAV background preferred or qualified through like experience as determined by the Site / Exercise Support Manager.
Must have a Secret Clearance.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of related work experience. Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer in-depth understanding of Unmanned Arial Systems (UAS) and robotics.
May require additional specialized experience and/or previous military service in the fields of IN, FA, AR, EN, SF, or other qualifying like experience as determined by the Site / Exercise Support Manager.
Prefer additional skills / experience in Scout, Mortar, Sniper or Artillery.
Prefer former CSM / CPT or above Army/USMC.
Prior assignment to a maneuver CTC as an Observer/Controller or extensive CTC experience as BLUFOR/OPFOR.
CTC experience preferred.
Thorough knowledge of the military decision making process (MDMP).
