Description:
CACI is seeking Coaches/Mentor for the Leader Training Program (LTP) in support of the Operations Group, Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) at Fort Polk, LA.
The Leader Training Program at JRTC consists of a seven to eight day Program of Instruction (POI) conducted ten to twelve times per year. The program’s goal is to refine the war-fighting skills of unit commanders (Bde and below) and their staff in order to enhance unit capabilities for follow-on training and deployments. LTP prepares and focuses the Brigade Combat Team for a future JRTC rotation. The POI is tailored specifically to the rotational unit to facilitate small group instruction that emphasizes mission focused individual and collective training in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), estimates, information management, mission command, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) using planning, orders preparation, rehearsals, and case studies for Mission Command/War Fighting functions. In between each program of instruction LTP personnel are preparing and tailoring the POI for subsequent rotations to meet the Rotational Units (RTU) training objectives as approved by Chief, G3/5/7.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for execution of the Leader Training Program at the Battalion Level (including Battalion Task Force).
- Ensures the POI is prepared and approved in a timely manner to ensure timely execution and resourcing.
- Works directly for the LTP Lead, the Brigade LTP Trainer/Coach.
- During the rotation the LTP Battalion Coach/Mentor will provide feedback and conduct After Action Reviews (AAR’s) to enhance discussion and the learning process.
- During the AAR process the Coach/Mentor will recommend new methodologies, discuss operational design, changes in organization and processes to facilitate changes in Doctrine, Organization, Training, Material, Leadership, Education, Personnel, and Facilities (DOTLMPF).
- At the conclusion of the rotation the Battalion LTP Coach/Mentor will provide a written product that reviews organizational strengths and areas of improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Typically requires Bachelor’s degree and 10-12 years of military experience with Light, air assault, airborne, and mechanized forces.
- Army Service School Instructor Small Group Leader or former Observer Controller Trainer (OCT) at a Combat Training Center.
- Former Maneuver (Combat Arms) Officer with experience at the maneuver battalion level (infantry, armor, cavalry)
- Current in-depth knowledge and understanding of current Combined, Joint and Army Doctrine as well as training management; knowledge of evolving Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP) as well as understanding of current and evolving Threat doctrine; understanding of Army Decisive Action missions.
- Familiar with Joint Combat Tactical Simulation (JCATS) to exercise elements of the orders process.
- MEL IV, Command and General Staff Officers Course.
- Must possess a current US SECRET clearance.
This is primarily an indoor position from a fixed facility, however there may be limited field duty for maneuver area and facilities familiarization, Tactical Exercises Without Troops (TEWTs), rehearsals, and orientation. Candidate should be in good physical condition, present a professional appearance, and good health.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience on a Joint Staff, Unified Command Staff, or Joint Task Force Level Staff.
- Special Operations Force experience.
- Participation in Joint Readiness Training Center Rotation as a member of the RTU.
- Strong background in military history and political affairs. - School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS).
