Job Summary
AECOM has an exciting opportunity as a Weapons Repair Inspector in Afghanistan on the MOSC-A contract. Performs initial inspections to determine the nature and extent of small arms repairs required. Performs final inspections on small arms after the repairs have been completed. Disassembles and examines parts and assemblies as required and reassembles and adjusts components. Determines serviceability of weapons and parts and exercises initiative to maintain records and status of warranted items. Obtains approval prior to repair actions on warranted items. Diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repair of small arms using a variety of diagnostic techniques and TMDE with little or no supervision. Assists with inventories. Enters/updates computerized information. Safely uses common hand tools and shop equipment effectively without assistance. May instruct other employees in proper repair maintenance procedures. Conducts and receives cross training as directed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required.
4 years experience in small arms repair required.
US Army MOS 45K, USMC 2111 or other military/civilian equivalent required.
Must have knowledge and skills in repairing weapons.
Must have active secret clearance.
Must complete QC Inspector PQS training within 30 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior Weapons Inspector experience preferred.
Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 77 hour work week.
Ability to climb and work in tight spaces.
Ability to lift 25 Lbs. continuously, 50 Lbs intermittently.
Ability to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Ability to work overhead for extended periods.
Ability to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
