Job Description :
This position manages Plant Protection & Emergency Services (PP&ES) employees who provide 24/7 armed security, fire compliance, locksmith, medical response, visitor control, employee badging, contractor screening, and regulatory enforcement to safeguard personnel and property at the Littleton Colorado Plant. This position is responsible for coordinating subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions. This position coordinates the equipment activities assigned to the PP&ES department to include patrol vehicles, security equipment, intrusion detection, access control, video surveillance, and communications systems. Establishes regular security inspections and coordinates with firefighting and civil law-enforcement agencies.
The Security Manager provides day-to-day direction to four exempt level shift Supervisors, fire compliance personnel, locksmith, badging representatives and represented employees using established policies and precedents. The individual will develop work assignments, assess performance, and ensure projects are completed on schedule. The Security Manager will recommend, create, administer and execute policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees and may affect the overall posture of the site physical security. This position does not normally perform direct tasks of the group he/she is managing but may assist as workload requires. To assist, the Security Manager will need to be qualified to carry a weapon.
Other duties include understanding and assisting in administering the collective bargaining agreement for compliance and agreement, managing budgetary requirements to planned costs within the organization, and representing the organization in normal departmental meetings. The Security Manager will also coordinate and participate with Executive Protection assignments. This individual must have the ability to multi-task and manage projects in coordination with other organizations such as; Information Technology, Facilities & Operations, Environmental Safety & Health, and others. The Security Manager will fill in for the Plant Protection & Emergency Services Sr. Manager as required, represent the department, and manage budget requirements.
Basic Qualifications
Ability to gain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance/access level.
Experienced in Full Spectrum Leadership imperatives or a similar form of leadership development program.
Prior experience with an Incident Command System (FEMA).
Strong interpersonal relationship skills.- e.g. must be able to appropriately handle concerns or questions by site employees.
Prior leadership with response which may include security, fire, and/or medical.
Computer Skills - e.g. must be able to effectively and efficiently navigate and perform typical computer functions such as email, create presentations, and information databases.
Communication Skills written and oral - e.g. must be able to communicate effectively and develop written correspondence that is grammatically accurate and represents the professionalism of the organization.
Job Knowledge -Knowledgeable of security, fire, medical, and crisis management protocols.
Understand Incident Command Structure consistent with FEMA National Incident Management System / Incident Command System.
Must have a Valid Driver's License.
Have a thorough knowledge of Facility Security rules and regulations.
Know and understand the nuances of Union Contract administration.
Desired skills
Have a thorough knowledge of Lockheed Martin security rules and regulations.
Experience with scheduling subordinate personnel assignments.
Experience representing an organization and coordinating with outside agencies.
Experience managing a budget.
