Overview:
The Security Manager is responsible for the management of the day to day security, event security and emergency preparedness and response protocols for the AT&T Center and Toyota Field, as well as assigned site responsibilities. This position is responsible for the planning and implantation of security for emergency preparedness protocols, dark days, and events at the AT&T Center and Toyota Field. Additionally, this position will develop and manage an affective training program for Part-Time Building and Event Security Leads and Part-Time Security Staff to ensure their development meets or exceeds industry standards.
The Security Manager will have the needed background to support the management of the building and event security staff, to include but not limited to a background in public venue security, emergency management experience, law enforcement or the military. This manager will be expected to have strong verbal and written communication skills with the responsibility to communicate at all levels in an appropriate manner. Lastly, this position will liaison with law enforcement as needed to ensure both venue and public safety guidelines are met.

Responsibilities:
Source, hire, develop and manage a part time security staff of 150. Ensure security staff is an effective team supplied to best support strategic goals while maintaining the highest of industry standards applying to public safety and crowd control.
Manage staff and event escalated responses and emergency situations.
Oversee event security operations for 100 + events per year.
Manage and maintain all departmental projects and financial records, prepare an annual operational budget and maintain that throughout the year. Responsible for being organized and having his/her staff prepared in all aspects of venue security, this must be flexible and available as needed to support the needs of each event.
Interface and collaborate with numerous external clients and officials to ensure the venue is well prepared, to include sports league officials, law enforcement, local emergency responders, federal agencies, and others as needed to maintain the highest of standards.
Research, develop, and implement policies and procedures around staff and event safety requirements that are in alignment with our company values. Safety and Security policies should remain up to date and staff should be knowledgeable on how to properly execute the program initiatives. The Security Manager is responsible for training staff as well as ensuring that programs put in place remain relative to the event, arena, and applicable laws.
Train, develop, and recognize event security staff for proper program execution. The Security Manager is responsible for collaborating with the Senior Manager of Security and Parking and building operations teams to keep the safety standards for the building up to date and within compliance of all applicable regulations.
Lead and direct Building Security, medical services, fire marshal, law enforcement, and report writers to ensure the protection of the arena, team and assets.
Serve as manager on duty for Building and Event Security Officers while conducting employee evaluations for all officers on the shift to include: Security Leads, Security Supervisors and Security Officers.
Assists in the development, implementation and management of the company’s risk assessment, and execution of emergency preparedness protocols and to maintain appropriate documentation for all areas of operation
Creates and directs safety and security trainings focusing on OSHA compliance, life safety, leadership and on-going training for internal staff, partner staff and external guests.
Collaborate with management and public safety officials to develop training programs, employee safety presentations, practical exercises and tabletop to ensure that our operating procedures are provided for internal and external guests.
Perform quality control audits throughout the arena in public and restricted areas in order to identify security vulnerabilities and potential safety concerns. Develop after action reports and operating procedures to address any areas identified from quality control audits.
Maintain industry standards for asset protection, access control systems, CCTV and other facility security policies and procedures designed to enhance the security and safety for the arena and organization.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Advanced Degree in a related field, or related equivalent experience.
A minimum of 3-5 years supervisory, management and/or leadership experience.
A minimum of 3-5 years security experience.
A valid Texas State driver license is required.
Must be able to obtain a Texas Security License, level II or higher (This is required while in position).
Must have knowledge in the field of alarms, CCTV and access control systems.
Must have a flexible schedule and the ability to work long hours, including overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays. This is an Event based position. Reliability is strongly measured.
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with diverse staff, tenacious work ethnic and strong, written communication skills.
An above average knowledge of computer programs and software, such as Microsoft Office.
Must be detail-oriented and highly organized with an ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and adapt to change.
Must be able to complete projects and resolve issues expeditiously, independently and with minimal supervision; must be able to show initiative and good judgment.
Must possess the ability to meet dress standards. As a representative of Spurs Sports & Entertainment, dress standards are highly reflective of our brand.
Essential functions:
Must be 18 years of age at time of hire.
Must be able to clear an extensive background screening.
Must be able to lift, pull, push and/or carry 25 pounds as necessary.
Must have the ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, and navigate through stairways during a standard shift.
Must have the physical ability to patrol both inside and outside of the AT&T Center and Toyota Field during all seasons of the year and possible extreme weather conditions.
Preferred Experience:
3-5 five years experience in a leadership role as a security manager, preferably in a sports and entertainment industry preferred.
Previous experience in Law enforcement, Venue security management or the military is preferred.
CPR Certification (This is required while in position)
Knowledge of Basic First Aid preferred.
The ability to show a track record of personal development. Experience in the management and development of a large workforce.
