APS-ARTI LLC. (AAJV) is currently recruiting for a Security Assistant (Security Specialist I) in support of a contract with the Department of State at our Rosslyn, VA location. Position is full-time, exempt. Start date is immediate upon selection with a two week notice to current employer.

Summary

The Security Assistant will support the Adverse Actions Division, Office of Personnel Security and Suitability (PSS), Security Infrastructure Directorate (SI), Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) as part of a three-person unit/team. The team is responsible for vetting extremely sensitive and adverse information regarding security clearance processing of Department personnel.



PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Receive, track and manage multiple clearance vetting tasks
Compile, condense, and draft official memorandums for clearance processing and forward to senior DS management for approval
Search databases, isolating and printing any pertinent information to include in the compilation of all results acquired for that particular vetting in response to the requestor
Edit memo entries standardizing the comments from multiple reviewers into a memo for consistent delivery of information throughout. This task requires research into the security file to verify accuracy of dates and other pertinent data
Deliver sensitive documents to HR offices in Washington DC from Arlington VA, via the Department shuttle bus
Generate division metrics weekly for presentation at staff meeting
Receive completed reports of investigation and determine if all requirements of processing have been met for the case to be reviewed in third-level adverse adjudications
Assign cases per the Division Chief to the senior adjudicators in the division
Track case assignment and movement in various databases
Take minutes at staff meetings; update weekly PowerPoint slides

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate degree and two to three years of specialized security experience in one of the following areas: counterintelligence, investigations, industrial security, dignitary/VIP policy and security standard development, OPSEC, COMSEC, INFOSEC, security countermeasures programs, access system operation and management, personnel protection and protecting classified information, or region desk office. With three to five years of specialized security experience a degree is not required
Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task, track multiple actions, and follow-up on status of actions ensuring timely processing.
Must have strong computer skills (MS Office applications) to include database experience, and possess a proficiency in data entry
Must maintain absolute discretion in the handling of classified information, criminal investigative reports, personnel files and other sensitive mattersÂ
