TSO Armor & Training, Inc (TSO) is a leader in training support services, with a corporate office located in Chesapeake VA. We have ongoing opportunities for Weapons Based Instructors, to support military instructors in the delivery of Antiterrorism/Force Protection curriculum.
Selected individuals will support DOD/Federal Antiterrorism/Forces Protection Training Agencies, delivering instructional delivery in basic to advance tactics, techniques and procedures associated with Force Protection and maritime operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide classroom and laboratory instruction for Navy security personnel in the following COIs:
• Security Reaction Force-Advanced (SRF-A) (A-830-0396)
• Armed Sentry/Security Reaction Force-Basic (AS/SRF-B) (A-830-0018)
• Provide instructional and safety support for live fire weapons training
• Conduct training 8 hours a day, five days a week for the length of the course
• Adhere to and maintain academic standards and provide remediation for students when required
• Maintain an orderly and professional classroom, as well as prepare classrooms, labs, ranges, equipment and course material for instructional delivery of curriculum
• Maintain proper dress code and grooming standards
Experience
• Minimum Two years military or Law Enforcement operational background
• Minimum Three years documented instructional delivery experience
• Possess familiarity with organization, Navy rank structure, knowledge of shipboard and military terminology
Qualifications
• Navy NEC 9502 or Graduate from an approved Journeyman Instructor Training (JIT) course
• Navy NEC 0812 or Graduate from the NRA LE Handgun/Shotgun Instructor course
• Certified with CPR & First Aid training (Not mandatory but a plus)
• Subject matter expert in some or all courses (Attended as a student)
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Be willing and able to pass a medical screening and drug screening
• Must be personally capable of performing all training evolutions including the ability to effectively complete weapons qualifications in the standing, kneeling, and prone positions, ascend or descend ladders, go through narrow passageways, and be free of any abnormal fear of heights.
• Must possess valid Driver’s License
• Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Must have the ability to work as part of a team.
