Position Overview:
The Force Protection and Physical Security Officer (FPPSO) provides support relating to force protection, physical security countermeasures, contingency planning, and response force exercise coordination efforts. This officer also supports the Client in planning and implementation of new and modification of existing integrated electronic and IT-based physical security management systems.
Technical Certification(s) Desired:
Certification from national/international – Anti -Terrorism (AT), Physical Security
Countermeasures (PSC), or Contingency Planning (CP).
Security Clearance Requirement:
TS/SCI.
• Must be willing to undergo and pass a Counterintelligence Polygraph.
Required Experience:
• Develop contingency plans related to emergency activities to prepare and respond to emerging threats and incidents affecting the Client.
• Shall work with various security and facilities staffs to ensure the use of best practices in acquisition, lease, or modification to Client facilities
• Working knowledge of Anti-Terrorism, Physical Security Countermeasures, and Contingency Planning.
• Experience performing vulnerability and threat analysis.
• Experience determining countermeasures based on risk analysis.
• Practical knowledge and experience with physical security aspects of building construction, to include working with blue prints and related technical construction documents.
• Knowledge of the following:
· Knowledge of Defense Threat Reduction Agency and assessment team activities
· Knowledge of DoD Anti-Terrorism Force Protection regulations, guidance, and benchmarks.
• Experience with Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement agencies, personnel, and procedures e.g. Unified Facilities Code, US Army Corp of Engineers and other guidance and documentation on force protection construction and engineering.
• Short-Term-(9Q days or less) Temporary Duty (TDY) CONUS and OCONUS travel is required
Level III additional requirements:
• This level requires Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise
• At least 2 years working with physical security aspects of building construction.
• Experience applying anti-terrorism and force protection principles.
Educational and Position Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
· Level II requirements: BS and 5 years; HSD/GED and 10 years; Associates and 8 years; and Masters + and three years.
· Level III (SME) requirements: BS and 8 years; HSD/GED and 15 years; Associates and 10 years; and Masters+ and 5 years.
