Job Description
The Manager of Physical Security at our North America Base of Operations leads a team of supervisors and security officers dedicated to Perrigo plc security at our Holland and Allegan, MI locations. This role will provide oversight for all physical security operations and the Allegan Security Communication Center including facilities and offices within City of Allegan, Allegan and Ottawa County. This position will include responsibility of physical security, program/project management, strategy, leadership and influence. This role requires candidates with the ability to be responsive 24/7.
Duties will include:
Developing and implementing a standardized approach to enterprise physical security
Creating, developing, and implementing enterprise physical security training initiatives
Consistently monitoring and responding to any changes in internal or physical security requirements
Effectively managing with the Global Security ID, & Access Security Administrator Access Control Program
Conducts physical security audits and performs physical security surveys
Designing, developing, and implementing solutions for security system installations, upgrades, repairs and change-outs
Researching and testing new security technologies, systems, equipment, components and products
Overseeing and managing implementation and operations of security technology and alarm systems.
Effectively managing and developing a team of security professionals
Integrating all-source intelligence, assessments, and reports into an all-hazards vision to secure people and facilities
Organizing, managing, and tracking implementation of physical security systems, upgrades, or projects
Serving as a subject matter expert on physical security and providing input to the Global Security Manager on physical security-related programs and developments
Directly assist in the preparation of crisis (emergency) contingency management and planning to include business continuity plans.
Required Experience
Bachelor degree required; consideration may be given to candidates who do not hold a degree but hold 10+ years of progressively responsible and relatable experience and at least 5 years of full supervisory experience.
Minimum of 7 years/prefer 10 years of working experience within the discipline of corporate security, with emphasis in physical security, access control, emergency response, and security operations required; will consider alternative experience such as in law enforcement or U.S. military.
Detailed knowledge of physical security operations.
Knowledge of Controlled and non-controlled product security and best practices preferred
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
Law enforcement experience is a plus.
ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification preferred or other accredited security certifications
Must be available 24/7 to respond to security related incidents.
Must hold strong leadership skills and the ability to direct a diverse team of security professionals.
Experience in other security disciplines such as investigations, intelligence, or executive protection is a plus.
