Position Summary
The successful candidate should have working knowledge of processing personnel clearances, employee briefings, visit requests and provide a wide variety of clerical duties in the administration of NISPOM security requirements.
Position Responsibilities
Initiates, prepares, processes and oversees the appropriate documentation and correspondence relating to
the origination, transfer, and termination of DOD and DOS personnel security clearance investigations, re-investigations and positions of public trust certifications
Reviews completed security clearance and public trust applications to ensure accuracy in accordance with applicable policy and directives akes fingerprints
Maintains personnel security files and suspense logs
Conducts security briefings
Updates and maintains the personnel database as it pertains to security clearances
Participates in audits and inspections
Additional duties as assigned by the Senior Security Specialist
Job Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience
Must possess and maintain, at a minimum, a DOD Top Secret security clearance.
Applicant must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
Two years experience as an industrial security professional
Experience with JPAS/JCAVs
Experience with e-QIP preferred
Experience with DOS OPM eQIP Portal preferred
Must be a self-starter who is organized, detail oriented and can handle multiple tasks at the same time
Valued by not required Skills and Experience
Prior training and certifications in applicable DoD Industrial Security programs and policies is a plus Microsoft Office experience is a plus
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to read, comprehend and process security clearance application forms.
