ICITAP is a law enforcement development organization whose mission is to work with foreign governments to develop effective, professional, and transparent law enforcement capacity that protects human rights, combats corruption, and reduces the threat of transnational crime and terrorism, in support of U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives.
Candidate should have experience as a police manager, from the rank of Lieutenant or above or held position of director, assistant, deputy director of a professional standards unit in a police department or as a member of state Peace Officers Standards and Training commissions or Law Enforcement Academy. The individuals selected for these positions should have 15+ years of experience in police management and at least five years in the development and implementation of professional law enforcement standards and their use in training programs, policy and procedures and related professionalization strategies and objectives. These positions will not be full-time Mexico based positions. One is expected to go on short iterations of training and deployment.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree (a combination of experience and education may be considered)
15 years of experience.
At least 5 years of management experience.
Experience as a teacher, trainer and advisor on criminal justice development programs.
Experience advising executives at state or federal levels on law enforcement policies.
Spanish proficiency
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
5-7 years of experience working internationally
1-3 years of experience working in Mexico
