Job Summary:
It is the primary responsibility of the Surveillance Investigator to evaluate and monitor casino activities for theft, advantage play, and misappropriation for all MGM Resorts International Nevada properties. This position utilizes discretion to conduct thorough reviews and investigations, which requires interaction with multiple internal and external contacts to analyze and gather information.
All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices and procedures.
Perform casino floor observations for theft, known advantage players and suspicious individuals.
Evaluates investigation findings and recommends courses of action to Surveillance Directors for review.
Perform casino floor observations to identify employee game protection procedure errors.
Evaluates the effectiveness of current programs and assists in the development of further internal controls and procedures to eliminate potential weakness areas.
Obtains and verifies evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses or by analyzing records.
Recognizes trends and documents them accordingly.
Communicate with Table Games and Surveillance in real time, reporting observations.
Completes internet research on advantage play and fraud schemes.
Operate Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) and digital recording programs to conduct surveillance.
Conduct routine surveillance filming, review videos, and complete documentation to detect suspicious activity throughout casino and gaming areas.
Monitor Table Games, Casino Cage, Soft Count, Poker, and Race and Sports areas and personnel as well as employees adjunct to casino floor.
Maintain strict confidentiality for the company when conducting observations and investigations.
Use computer and associated hardware to complete documentation and prepare daily reports.
Maintain evidence by dubbing and saved video files.
Prepares and presents caseloads to outside agencies for prosecution, such as law enforcement or other government agencies as needed.
Testify in court as a representative for the Company as necessary.
Works closely and cooperates with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, including Gaming Control Board (GCB).
Attend all company sponsored training classes and assists with department training.
Conduct employee and non-employee investigative interviews.
Perform all other job related duties as requested.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
At least 5 years of investigative experience in the casino industry.
Experience with Closed Circuit TV (CCTV)/digital systems.
Experience in working with all levels of management, including senior executives.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to recognize faces with a high degree of recall and accuracy
Ability to organize, effectively multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced and ever changing work environment.
Ability to consistently operate at a high level, follow through all issues with attention to detail and meet department goals and objectives.
Ability to produce reports, memos, executive summaries, project plans and tailor for various audiences.
Proven ability to develop and execute innovative ideas, projects and business solutions
Proven change management abilities, including development of solutions which require comprehensive shifts in operational practices
Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
Ability to prioritize conflicting duties and maintain timeline integrity for projects and tasks.
Comprehensive knowledge of all Nevada Gaming regulations.
Detailed knowledge of casino operations.
Proficient knowledge of at least one card counting system.
Knowledge of social media investigations
Proficient knowledge of advantage play techniques.
Knowledge of common cheating techniques
Proficient knowledge of computer software applications
Sufficient knowledge of all areas observed, including but not limited to policies, procedures, cheating methods and advantage play systems for all casino departments.
