Small Arms Weapons Instructor

Location: Gulfport, Mississippi, United States
Primary responsibilities include:
Oversee and perform basic to advanced levels of classroom, laboratory and practical instruction involving live fire combat shooting, including Small Unit Tactic (SMUT) operations and techniques.
Oversee and perform the Course of Fire (COE) to meet Category III/IV IAW OPNAVINST and COMNECCINST 3591.
Provided dynamic weapons instruction for small arms weapons M9/M11/ Pistol and M4 Rifle IAW COMNECC 3591 training and qualification standards

Oversee and perform the safe operation of laser simulation weapon systems (E.G. Conflict Kinetics shooting simulations).
Oversee and perform nighttime live fire of small arms and the use of night optical device (s).
Perform course preparations to include, but not limited to, classroom, weapon loading, weapon mounting, ammo breakout, target placement, computer set up, practical area set up, etc.
Meet navy High – Risk Training requirements as outlined in OPNAVINST 1500.75 series

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelors degree in science, engineering, management, or other relevant field; OR an Associate’s degree coupled with 3+ additional years of experience; OR a High School diploma coupled with 5 additional years of experience.
An active Secret clearance.
A minimum of 2+ years of experience as an Armed forces or Law Enforcement Small Arms instructor
Possess certifications for the following weapons systems
M9 Pistol
M4/M16 (variant rifle)

Desired Qualifications:
Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor (SAMI) graduate or equivalent
Master Training Specialist
Combat shooting experience
Graduate of Basic/Journeyman Instructor Training or equivalent.
Qualified Expeditionary Small Arms Marksmanship Instructor (ESAMI)
Qualified Category IV shooter IAW COMNECCINST 3591
Special Operations (e.g. USMC Force Recon/MARSOC, USA Ranger/Green Beret, USN SEAL, USAF Combat Controller, UK or Australian SAS, or US Navy EOD)
Graduate of any of the following small weapons training locations: Blackwater, MidSouth Shooting Institute, Gryphon, SFARTAETC, or SFAUC. (Please provide details of other small arms weapons training schools if applicable.)
