Arms and Ammunition Subject Matter Expert

Job Summary


The Arms and Ammunition SME is responsible for work related to all Nigerian Ministry of Defense (MOD) ground forces small arms, field artillery and mortars in accordance with (IAW) assigned task orders.

Principal Accountabilities
(Typical duties include the following, although specific duties vary by assignment or contract.)
Perform work and provide subject matter expertise on all MOD arms and ammunition IAW assigned task orders.
Develop written documentation of arms and ammunition IAW assigned task orders.
Communicate with key MOD customers and staff on arms and ammunition issues.
Ensure arms and ammunition program effectiveness and efficiency IAW assigned task orders.
Review and analyze data, processes and procedures and develop recommendations as needed.
Provide process and systems improvement recommendations for all MOD arms and 
ammunition.


Knowledge & Skills
Must be well organized to meet deadlines and produce inventory reports.
Must exhibit professional behaviors and appearance and be aware of the importance of teamwork.
An ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and orally.
An ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
Knowledge of security and confidentiality procedures is desired.

Experience & Education
Former military or depot experience preferred. Depot weapons experience is preferred
High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Minimum 8 years experience with arms and ammunition. Eastern Block track vehicle experience preferred.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment
May work in austere environment. Often works extended hours to meet project deadlines.

Travel
Ability to travel as required.
